We are honored to be participating in the 1st Annual Mental Health Recovery Softball Tournament hosted by Rise As Lions, Rob Decker, this Saturday, May 30th.
At Selah Recovery Network, we believe healing was never meant to happen in isolation. Recovery is strengthened through connection, support, purpose, and communities that choose compassion over shame. That is why we are excited to join an organization whose mission closely reflects our own.
Rise As Lions is dedicated to creating shame-free communities by offering hope, healing, and restoration while changing conversations around trauma, su***de, addiction, and mental health. These are conversations that matter, and conversations that save lives.
Whether you are in recovery, supporting a loved one, working in behavioral health, or simply passionate about mental wellness, we invite you to come out, enjoy the day, and connect with organizations committed to making a difference.
We'll have a table at this event and would love the opportunity to meet you, share more about our services, and connect with others who believe that restoration is possible.
Because recovery is more than abstinence.
It's rebuilding relationships.
It's finding purpose.
It's rediscovering hope.
It's learning that your story is not over.
Thank you to Rise As Lions for creating a space where people can come together, support one another, and celebrate healing.
đź’™ We look forward to seeing you there.

We’re continuing our “What Selah Means” series with our dear friend, Dan Hugill.
Dan does incredible work in our community through his non-profit, The Bridge, walking alongside individuals; many of whom are justice-involved - as they rebuild, find purpose, and move forward.
Community matters. Connection matters. And we’re grateful to be aligned with people who share that same heart.
If you’re looking for support or a place to start, we encourage you to connect with Dan and the work he’s doing.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” -Hebrews 10:24

There’s something sacred about today, the space in between.

Yesterday, it felt like the end. The cross. The silence. The weight of loss. The moment where hope seemed to have died.

And yet… today exists.

This quiet, in-between space, where nothing seems to be happening, where prayers feel unanswered, where the story feels unfinished. It’s the chrysalis. The hidden place. The place where transformation is happening, even when it looks like everything has fallen apart.

Like a butterfly, what looks like death is actually becoming.

Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar doesn’t just grow wings, it dissolves. Everything familiar breaks down before something entirely new is formed. And somehow, woven into it all, was the blueprint for what it was always meant to be.

That’s what makes today so beautiful.

Because this space, this waiting, this not-yet, is not the end of the story. It’s where God does some of His deepest, most unseen work. It’s where resurrection is quietly being prepared.

So if today feels still… or uncertain… or heavy, maybe it’s not the end.

Maybe it’s the beginning of something sacred.

Sunday is coming.

Connection is a fundamental human need. Whether someone is struggling or simply navigating life, having support plays a critical role in how we heal, grow, and stay grounded.

“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

There is something powerful about being in a space where you are understood. Where you don’t have to explain everything. Where someone can say, “me too,” and mean it.

At Selah, we recognize that while many individuals come to us to meet requirements, whether through the legal system or DMV, true growth doesn’t happen by simply checking a box. Our approach goes deeper.

We focus not only on helping individuals successfully complete what is required of them but also on understanding why they are struggling, identifying their underlying needs, and what will support lasting change. That often includes connection, having a space to process, to be gently pushed toward growth, and to be supported by others walking a similar path.

Community reduces isolation.
It enhances purpose and accountability.
It creates opportunities for insight and growth.

Whether you engage in our programming or not, our goal remains the same: to ensure you have access to the support, resources, and community needed to move forward.
Because no one is meant to do this alone.

Rest is not the absence of daily challenges or hardships, it is a greater presence within them.

Selah.

There may be chaos at the surface, waves that rise and fall without warning. But deep below, there is stillness that remains untouched.

That is what true rest is like.

Not a life without movement, but a life held steady within it.

The world is tired, constantly striving, constantly carrying more than it was meant to. And somewhere along the way, we've forgotten how to slow down, how to be simply present.

But rest is not something we create on our own. It is something we enter into, a presence that holds us, even here.

So pause, just for a moment. Breathe. You don't have to carry everything right now.

There is a deeper stillness available, even in the midst of it all.

Selah.
