In this episode of Finding Peaks, Chris sits down with KJ Jones, a member of our Nursing team and a Peaks Recovery Centers alumni, to talk about his own experience at Peaks and the role Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) can play in the recovery process.
KJ explains what TMS is, how the treatment works, and why it can serve as a “jumpstart” for people who may be struggling to move forward. Together, Chris and KJ discuss how we can continue changing the way we help people, the importance of having people who genuinely care in your corner, and the willingness to make meaningful changes in your life.
They also talk about what it means to move beyond simply surviving and begin feeling comfortable in your own life, along with the role physical activity can play in recovery and overall well-being.
From KJ’s journey as a Peaks alumni to his work helping others today, this conversation is a look at hope, change, and finding the willingness to take that next step.

Healing doesn’t grow from criticizing who we are. It grows when we learn to meet ourselves with compassion, patience, and grace. 🌿

Sometimes the support we once needed becomes the support we are able to give. 💙

In this episode, Patricia Shannon shares what continues to inspire her work as a Peer Recovery Coach. Love, kindness, understanding, and simply being willing to listen can have a profound impact on someone who needs to feel seen and heard.

We’re incredibly grateful for how far we’ve come and even more inspired by the work still ahead. Here’s to 12 years of helping people move forward, and to continuing that mission for many years to come. 💙

Every interaction matters. 💙

In this episode, Chris Burns explains why showing up authentically is not optional in recovery. For someone walking through the door, that moment may be one of the most courageous decisions of their life. They don't need perfection. They need genuine human connection, trust, and people who are willing to meet them where they are.

Recovery begins with one moment, one conversation, and one person who chooses to show up with compassion.
