Introducing our June Mom of the Month β Cortney M.! π
Cortney was a FIT4MOM mama at when she and her family made the cross-country move to Concord β just as we were just getting started here! We like to think it was meant to be. π She's a working mom, a nurse by training, and brings so much warmth and energy to every class she walks into. We are so lucky to have her in our village!! Read on to learn a little more about her!
π Where do you live?
Concord!
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ§ Who is in your family?
My husband Graig, my two daughters Rose (4 in June) and Olive (7 months), and my Mom, Sam.
π» What do you do for work?
I'm a nurse by training, but I'm currently a Senior Program Analyst with LA County Department of Public Health β working remotely with a flexible schedule.
βοΈ What does a good day look like?
An easy Saturday β FIT4MOM class, hanging at the park, playing outside with the girls, then a walk downtown for ice cream and time running around the State House lawn.
π What brought you to FIT4MOM and what made you stay?
I started with FIT4MOM in LA after my first daughter was born and was hooked immediately. When we relocated to Concord in 2025, I was so relieved to find a chapter just getting started. I was worried it wouldn't feel the same β but I was wrong. This community has been invaluable. And the workouts are great! I feel stronger than I thought possible after my second pregnancy.
πͺ What would you tell a mom on the fence?
I get it; I remember being encouraged over text by the LA franchise owner for weeks before I finally built up the courage to try a class. I remember being afraid that I was somehow not the type of mom that would fit in with the group; that everyone would be super fit, and I would be lagging behind; or that my baby would cry the whole time, and I would just be stressed out and would ruin the class. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Both in LA and here in Concord, everyone is so warm and welcoming. Classes are designed for every level of fitness, and you can adapt each class to where you are that day. Give yourself an hour to see what it's all about - you have nothing to lose!
