🎢 What do candy, paper towels and balloons have in common?

Apparently, they’re all you need for a VERY competitive Thursday at The Wellington! 😂 We are late on this post. 🙈

We started the morning with Ashlee from Right at Home, putting our engineering skills to the test as we built candy roller coasters. 🍬🎢

Then Daintee Hurst-Dietz Independent Insurance Agent brought the games, and things got SERIOUS! Horses were racing, balloons were flying, and the bean bag competition was so close we needed a toss-out to settle the score! 🐎🎈🏆

There was plenty of laughter, a little friendly competition and a whole lot of joy. Thank you, Ashlee and Daintee, for spending the day with us! 💙

Boots, barbecue, and one VERY adorable duck! 🤠🍗🐥

We wrapped up our Joyful Jeepers adventures Friday with a Texas cowboy celebration and a community lunch full of delicious barbecue, laughter, and our favorite people! Having our residents, friends, and families gathered around the tables made the day extra special. 💛

And Christina, our Executive Director, in her Jeep duck suit? Absolutely QUACKED everyone up! 😂🐥

After two weeks of adventures, full plates and happy hearts were the perfect way to wrap things up. Thank you to everyone who made this journey so much fun!

🎉One year with Mary Jean, and we’re all smiling a little brighter!

Our community’s bookiest bookworm always has a smile to share, kind words to offer, and another book waiting to be read. 📚 She loves going to church and helps new neighbors feel at home as a member of our Independent Living Welcome Committee.

History class is a lot more fun when there’s no test and you brought your friends! 😂📚

It was a beautiful day for our Joyful Jeepers to explore the Heritage Museum in Conroe and discover Montgomery County’s rich history! 🤠🏛️

🌳 Fun fact: Texas has a wild side beyond the rodeo! The Big Thicket once stretched across more than 3 million acres, from Louisiana to the Brazos River and down near Houston! Described as a literal jungle, it brought together forests, swamps, and desert environments where southern, western, and Mexican ecosystems converged, creating an incredible variety of wildlife. Talk about a Texas-sized jungle! It’s still around today on a much smaller scale, with protected land about an hour east of Conroe!

Yesterday’s forecast: Flying beanbags, scattered paint showers, and a 100% chance of Christina being unsupervised. 🤣

Megan from Safe Solutions Senior Placement, LLC hosted co****le, where “just one more toss” is practically a rule. 😂 She ran the game and kept everyone in line! Thank you, Megan!

Then we traded beanbags for water guns and gave painting a whole new splash! Even Christina, our executive director, joined the action. Apparently, “other duties as assigned” includes water gun art! 🎨🔫🤣

We will reveal the final painting at the end of the week. Stay tuned ...

Life’s a beach… until someone catches YOUR prize fish. 🏖️🐟😂

Joyful Jeepers rolled into Galveston early this morning! Paloma from Concho Hearts Hospice- Houston brought the beach vibes with “blue ocean” and sand beach cup desserts. Sweet treats and a little exercise. Our kind of beach day! 🌊🥄

Then came Let’s Go Fishin’, one of our most competitive games yet! Clarissa Bachand from The Brightpointe brought fabulous prize bags and witnessed just how quickly “friendly fishing” turns into “that’s MY fish!” 🎣🏆😂

Oh, for the love of b**r… and bites! 🍻🥨😂

After a busy week of Joyful Jeepers adventures, we parked our Jeeps and put our snack hands to work at our B**r & Bites Happy Hour! Delicious German food, cold b**r and great company? Now THAT’S a pit stop! 🦆🚙

A big thank you to Keli at Bristol Park at Conroe for bringing the German b**r and Amy at Four Pillars Hospice for bringing the delicious German bites. You gave us plenty to say “Prost!” about! 🍻💛

☕🍪 A sweet start and a sticky finish! Joyful Jeepers still going strong.

Coffee, cookies and a little catching up! ☕🍪 Thank you to Stormie with CaptionCall for spending part of her day with us! She met and shared hugs with a few of our residents while telling us all about her amazing phones, available at no cost to our residents! ❤️☎️

Then we traded cookies for buttons for an afternoon of Texas button art! A little monotonous? Maybe. A little sticky? Definitely. Worth it? Just LOOK at this artwork! 😍

Our residents brought the creativity, Lauren brought the gluing assistance, and together they made Texas look cute as a button! ✨
