At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we love celebrating future healthcare leaders who are making a difference in mental health care! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘

We are incredibly proud of Alexis, a PharmD student currently enrolled at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy in Pennsylvania, who is completing her clinical rotations with us here at Lighthouse. Her passion for patient care, dedication to learning and commitment to behavioral health have already made such a positive impact on our team and the patients we serve.

Clinical experiences like these are so important in shaping compassionate, knowledgeable healthcare professionals who will continue to advocate for mental health and wellness in our communities. ๐Ÿง โœจ

Thank you, Alexis, for bringing your hard work, kindness and enthusiasm to Lighthouse. We are honored to be a part of your journey and cannot wait to see all the amazing things your future holds! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’Š

๐Ÿšญ Today is World No To***co Day ๐Ÿšญ

Quitting to***co is not just about physical health โ€” it is also about mental wellness, healing and reclaiming control over your life. ๐Ÿ’™

Many people use ni****ne as a way to cope with stress, anxiety, trauma or emotional struggles. While it may provide temporary relief, to***co and ni****ne use can often worsen anxiety, increase stress levels, impact mood and create long-term health challenges.

The journey to becoming to***co-free is not always easy, but every step toward healthier coping skills matters. Whether someone is cutting back, trying again after relapse or beginning their recovery journey for the very first time โ€” progress deserves encouragement, not judgment. โœจ

At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we understand that mental health and substance use recovery often go hand in hand. Healing the mind and body together can create stronger, healthier futures.

Today is a reminder that support is available, recovery is possible and small changes can lead to life-changing outcomes.

Women spend so much time caring for others โ€” but caring for your own mental health matters too. ๐Ÿ’—

Women often carry so much for everyone around them โ€” careers, children, relationships, caregiving, households and the emotional weight that comes with daily life. But constantly pouring into others without caring for yourself can leave your own mental well-being running on empty.

Here are a few simple tips for a healthier mind this month and beyond:
โœจ Prioritize sleep โ€” rest is not a luxury
โœจ Move your body, even if itโ€™s just a short walk
โœจ Stay connected with supportive people
โœจ Set boundaries without guilt
โœจ Take breaks from social media when needed
โœจ Make time for hobbies and joy
โœจ Donโ€™t ignore stress, anxiety, or burnout
โœจ Ask for help when life feels overwhelming

Mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma and substance use can affect women at any age โ€” and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we believe women deserve compassionate support, safe spaces to heal and reminders that their well-being matters too. ๐Ÿ’™

Take care of yourself the same way you care for everyone else. You deserve it. โœจ

Today, Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital was proud to have our Business Development Coordinators, Christy and Jason, attend the Crossroads Summer Connection hosted by Crossroads Treatment Center in Myrtle Beach! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

At Lighthouse, we believe collaboration is one of the strongest tools in behavioral healthcare. Events like this remind us how important it is for organizations to work together to break barriers, reduce stigma and ensure individuals know that help and hope are available close to home.

May is Older Americans Month โ€” a time to honor the wisdom, resilience and lifelong contributions of older adults in our communities. ๐Ÿ’™

As we age, mental health remains just as important as physical health โ€” yet many older adults quietly face challenges that often go unnoticed.

Aging can bring major life changes such as:
โ€ขLoss of loved ones
โ€ขRetirement or changes in identity
โ€ขIncreased isolation or loneliness
โ€ขChronic medical conditions
โ€ขMemory or cognitive concerns
โ€ขAnxiety, depression or grief

These struggles are not simply โ€œa normal part of getting older.โ€ Mental health support matters at every stage of life. In fact, emotional well-being plays a vital role in overall health, connection and quality of life for older adults.

At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we believe every individual deserves compassion, dignity and access to mental health care โ€” regardless of age. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do for an older loved one is check in, listen and remind them they are not alone. โœจ

May is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Awareness Month โ€” a time to bring understanding, compassion and education to a mental health condition that is often misunderstood. ๐Ÿ’š

Borderline Personality Disorder can impact the way a person experiences emotions, relationships, self-image and stress. Individuals living with BPD may struggle with intense emotions, fear of abandonment, impulsivity, mood instability or difficulty maintaining relationships โ€” but they are so much more than a diagnosis.

The truth is:
๐Ÿง  BPD is treatable
๐Ÿ’ฌ Recovery is possible
๐Ÿ’™ Support and understanding matter

Many individuals with BPD have experienced trauma, emotional pain or invalidation throughout their lives. With proper mental health treatment, coping skills, therapy and support systems, people living with BPD can build meaningful relationships, stability and hope for the future.
At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we believe education helps break stigma. Mental health conditions deserve compassion โ€” not judgment.

If you or someone you love is struggling with overwhelming emotions or mental health challenges, help is available close to home.

Trauma changes lives โ€” but so can compassion, support and access to care. ๐Ÿ’™

During National Trauma Awareness Month, we recognize the silent battles so many people carry every single day. Trauma does not always leave visible scars. Sometimes it looks like anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, substance use or simply trying to survive another difficult day.
At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we see the strength behind those stories every day. We see individuals choosing healing. Families searching for hope. Patients taking the first courageous step toward recovery. Healing is not linear. It is not quick. But it is possible. โœจ

That is why trauma-informed mental health care matters. Every patient deserves to feel safe, heard, respected and supported while navigating some of lifeโ€™s hardest moments.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please know you are not alone โ€” and help is available close to home.

This Memorial Day, Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

While this day is rooted in remembrance, it can also bring complex emotions for many โ€” especially veterans, military families and those grieving the loss of loved ones. Feelings of sadness, anxiety, trauma or isolation may become heavier during holidays centered around reflection and memory.

At Lighthouse, we want our community to know that mental health matters every day โ€” especially during moments that can feel emotionally overwhelming. Healing takes courage, and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. ๐Ÿ’™

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, let us also extend compassion to those carrying invisible wounds. Check on one another. Listen without judgment. And remember that no one has to struggle alone.

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital proudly supports our veterans and active-duty service members, including through the COMPACT Act, helping ensure access to mental health care when itโ€™s needed most.

As we gather with friends and family this Memorial Day weekend, letโ€™s also remember the importance of protecting both our physical and mental well-being. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

For many, holidays can bring celebrationโ€”but they can also bring stress, grief, loneliness or triggers related to substance use and mental health challenges. This weekend, we encourage everyone to celebrate safely, support one another and check in on the people around you.

โœจ Choose connection over pressure
โœจ Plan ahead if youโ€™re in recovery
โœจ Make space for fun that doesnโ€™t center around alcohol
โœจ Always ensure everyone gets home safely

At Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, we believe that healing, support and community matter every day of the year. If you or someone you love is struggling, help is available close to home.
