We’re exploring the possibility of starting a group counseling space for neurodivergent adults in the Conway area!

A lot of neurodivergent people grow up feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, isolated, or like they have to constantly mask to get through daily life. We’d love to create a space centered around connection, support, validation, and being around people who just get it.

These sessions would be on a sliding-scale, low-cost basis!

ELI5: Neurofeedback

All of our brains make waves. Sometimes the waves are too big and fast (like a storm), and sometimes they are too small and slow (like everything feels stuck and sleepy). In Neurofeedback, we use games to train your brain to make waves "just right."

You play a simple game, and your brain is connected to sensors that can “see” your brain waves. When your brain makes waves in a helpful, balanced way, the game progresses or works better. When your brain goes too stormy or too slow, the game pauses or your brain gets less points.

Your brain learns from that, and over time it gets better at staying calm, focused, and regulated on its own. This translates directly in YOU being able to stay calm, focused, and regulated on your own.

ADHD and trauma show up together a lot, and while research is still figuring out exactly why, here’s what we do know:

💥 People with ADHD are more likely to experience victimization across their lives
💥 ADHD nervous systems tend to be more stress-reactive, making it harder to come back down after stress and more likely for experiences to be processed as traumatic

So it’s not just what you’ve been through, it’s also how your neurodivergent nervous system processes and holds it. Which means healing is working WITH your brain and body, not against them. :)

Many autistic adults learn to mask well enough that their support needs go unseen, but even Level 1 Autism can be disabling. Unlearning the constant “just push through it” is often the first step toward actually taking care of the 'you' under the mask.

While traditional talk therapy works with the mind, somatic practices work with the body to regulate the nervous system directly. Instead of trying to "think differently" when you're dysregulated, somatic techniques focus on tracking physical sensations and using them to signal safety back to your brain.

Once your body feels grounded and safe, your mind is finally free to listen and heal. It’s not just "in your head," it’s in your body. 🧡

Masking isn’t magic. It’s survival. You deserve support that actually fits your life. Not resources designed for a seven year old boy 🙂
