Did you know your pre-planned funeral arrangements can move with you?
At O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home, we often talk to families and hear from families who believe they are "locked in" to a specific funeral home because they made pre-arrangements years ago or unfortunately were told that. Whether you’ve moved to the Corbin area or simply want a different level of service, we want you to know: You have the right to choose.

Kentucky law is designed to protect you, the consumer. Under KRS 367.934 through 367.974, funds paid toward a pre-need burial contract are held in the Kentucky Funeral Trust and are transferable.
You Are Not Restricted: Pre-arrangements are not required to stay at the funeral home where they were originally made. You have the legal authority to change your designated provider at any time.
Insurance is Portable: If your pre-plan is funded through a life insurance policy or a funeral annuity, that coverage is almost always transferable to any funeral home of your choice. You have the right to change the owner, beneficiary or your payment program (how you pay)

We Handle the Transition: If you wish to move your file to O’Neil-Lawson, we make the process seamless. You don’t even have to contact the other establishment; we can handle the transfer of paperwork for you. We pride ourselves in the integrity of our work. We will walk you through each step, show you the process and each step we take, as well as offering and keeping a “paper trail” where you are able to see the proof of each communication and transaction made on your behalf in keeping your file up to date!
