Curious about what to expect during a hearing evaluation?

First, it is important to know that hearing loss can happen at any age. Nearly 30 million American adults have some degree of hearing loss.

The evaluation consists of pure tone testing , pure tone bone conduction testing and word recognition testing. At Freedom Hearing Aid Center we also do speech in noise testing (ACT) if there is a hearing loss as this is so important if the patient plans to move forward with hearing aids.

The testing is done in a sound proof booth with ear inserts or headphones.

The evaluation is followed by a consultation, at which time we discuss various technology options catered to your needs and lifestyle.

No pressure & no obligation however it is important to remember that untreated hearing loss can lead to cognitive decline and dementia. A most recent study suggests that hearing aid use reduces cognitive decline by 71%.
