For anyone that would like to be out to welcome him back to Westernport, we will be picking Kenneth up this Friday.
Theresa Boal from Boal Funeral Home will be transporting him back from the airport into Westernport Friday evening. We do not know specific times but will update everyone when we know.
WASHINGTON –

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced today that U.S. Army Pfc. Kenneth L. Carpenter, 22, of Westernport, Maryland, who was killed during World War II, was accounted for on June 18, 2026.

Carpenter’s family recently received their full briefing on his identification, therefore, additional details on his identification can be shared.

In the spring of 1944, Carpenter was assigned to Company F, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, in Italy. On May 23, Carpenter’s unit was fighting southwest of Cisterna di Littoria, attempting to clear out German forces in the area and secure the railroad leading into town. The battalion came under heavy fire from mortars, artillery, and automatic weapons. Carpenter was killed by artillery shell fragments during the fighting.

👋 Hi, I'm Kendall !
Many of you already know me as the Office Manager and Nurse Care Manager here at Proactive Primary Care. I have over 25 years of healthcare experience, including 13+ years as a nurse, with a background in medical-surgical nursing, ICU, long-term care, dementia care, home health, wound care, and community health.
I earned my LPN from the Mineral County School of Practical Nursing and my RN, BSN from Frostburg State University. I'm currently completing my CRNP program and look forward to serving our community in an expanded role in the near future.
When I'm not at the office, I'm a wife, a proud mom, "Neena" to my 3 year old grandson, and fur mom to three rescue dogs and three rescue cats. I also enjoy advocating for veterans, rare medical disorders, and child abuse awareness.
I'm excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing to care for the community I call home.

Hello! My name is Karisa White, and I am honored to join the Proactive Primary Care team as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
I bring 13 years of healthcare experience to the practice, including 1 year in medical surgical nursing, 12 years in emergency medicine, and 9 years as a nursing educator. My academic background includes an Associate of Science from Allegany College of Maryland, a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from Kaplan University, a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University, and a Post-Master's Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from Regis College.
My goal is to blend clinical expertise with a warm, approachable demeanor, empowering patients to take an active role in their health. Professionally, I am deeply passionate about chronic disease management, preventive medicine, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Outside of clinical practice, I enjoy participating in community outreach, volunteering within my local school district, and serving as a preceptor for Registered Nursing students.
