A little taste of Italy made its way to The Point at CC Young!

Residents joined Chef Honor Star for a hands-on cooking experience, coming together to make mouth-watering tomato and mushroom crostini - one delicious bite at a time.

From fresh ingredients to shared laughter, the event was a wonderful reminder how food has a magical way of bringing people together.

Thank you, Chef Honor Star, for creating such a fun and flavorful experience for our CC Young community!

The best ingredient? Listening.

The voices of CC Young Residents were heard and inspired “Well Plate,” our made-to-order menu created in partnership with Thomas Cuisine that brings more heart-healthy, Mediterranean-inspired options to our community. From fresh vegetables and herbs to Kalamata olives, basil, and made-from-scratch recipes are prepared daily.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, reminding us that healthy dining should never mean sacrificing flavor.

🎨✨ New art has arrived at CC Young!
This month’s featured artist, Margo Miller, invites viewers to see the creative possibilities in everyday materials. Her exhibit features drypoint prints made with Tetra Pak packaging and a pasta maker, showing how simple tools can create beautiful and unexpected works of art.

Margo was inspired by the joy she saw while leading “printing from a pasta maker” workshops and hopes her work encourages others to look around their own homes, especially the kitchen, for creative inspiration.

Join us in celebrating her exhibit, on display now through September 27 in The Aver-Phillips Gallery located in The Vista.

We had an incredible time hosting the talented Forney High School Drumline, led by Director of Percussion, Riley Warren!

Their energy, rhythm, and amazing performance brought so much excitement to our Senior living community. 

Huge thanks to Mr. Warren and these fantastic student musicians for sharing their craft with our residents, you truly lit up the campus! 🙌🎶

Scammers? Not on our watch. 😉🎣

Recently, CC Young Senior Living Residents sharpened their scam-spotting skills during presentations on fraud prevention, scam awareness and online safety with our friends from The Senior Source and the Elder Financial Safety Center.

One hot topic? Phishing scams. They're getting sneakier, but we're getting smarter.

Here's what to watch for and be suspicious of:
🎣 Email addresses that almost look like the real thing
📱 Texts or emails you don't recognize and with suspicious links
💳 Requests for passwords, banking information or gift cards
✨ Deals or promises that sound way too good to be true

This Social Wellness Month, we're celebrating one of the best ways to stay connected: sharing knowledge. When one neighbor learns something new, the whole community gets stronger, smarter and safer.

We had a star-spangled celebration for America’s 250th birthday! ✨ From our CC Young Senior living resident-led red, white, and blue landscape to heartfelt performances by our ukulele group and CC Young ‘Uns choir, this celebration was filled with history, harmony, and American pride.

Here’s to 250 years of freedom, community, and letting freedom ring (and sing)! 🎶🗽
