While feeling sore after a tough workout is completely normal, heavy overexertion, intense heat, and severe dehydration can trigger a dangerous condition called rhabdomyolysis (rhabdo).

Red flag symptoms like severe muscle pain, weakness, swelling, nausea, confusion, or dark-colored urine should never be ignored.
