🚀 A NEW MILESTONE IN ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY. 🎉RIGHT HERE IN WESTERN CONNECTICUT.

This week, OrthoConnecticut successfully completed the first Mako Shoulder procedure at Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center, in partnership with Stryker — bringing this advanced robotic-assisted technology to patients in our region.

Performed by Ross Henshaw, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon for Sports Medicine, Knee, Hip & Shoulder, Mako Shoulder combines 3D preoperative planning with haptic robotic technology to help surgeons execute a patient-specific surgical plan with precision.

And the care happens close to home. Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center is a specialized orthopedic ambulatory surgery center in Danbury, with a singular focus on orthopedic procedures and a team dedicated to the orthopedic patient experience.

This is just the beginning. Upcoming Mako Shoulder procedures will also be performed by:

Dr. Paul is not only an expert spine surgeon—he’s also an umbraphile, someone with a passion for solar eclipses!

This past week, Dr. Paul and his family experienced the total solar eclipse in Spain, sharing real-time footage with us from the path of totality. The eclipse was especially significant for Spain—it was the country’s first total solar eclipse in more than a century, with the path of totality crossing northern Spain from Galicia through areas including Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country and Aragón.

What an incredible experience to witness with family. Thank you, Dr. Paul, for sharing a glimpse of this amazing moment with us!
