Built on faith and guided by grace, we provide therapeutic riding, the use of hippotherapy services by a licensed Occupational Therapist, sport and recreational ridiing, internships, volunteer opportunities, job coaching, and research in this and related fields.

THIS SUNDAY!! Trick or Treat on Horseback at CHUM! 11-3, all welcome! Thanks to everyone who helped with the donations of treats! Anyone who would like to volunteer for the event please let me know. We will get horses ready after 8 am and the event starts at 11. Volunteers can hand out candy at the stations for the kids or can help with the horses as well. Text me with any questions and we hope to see you there!

VERY IMPORTANT!!! If you have sent mail to our PO Box and it was returned…. Here’s the story:)!
With all the prep for for the accreditation visit and well deserved family time AND…. Well….life, I hadn’t gotten to the post office for a couple of weeks. They have a policy that it’s returned after 10 days!! I was floored and they said, ‘we put a note in your box’. The same box I hadn’t been there to empty 🙂! I look back and wonder why a simple text from them to come get my mail before it’s all returned would have been a hard thing to do 🙂!
We will continue to have the box into 2027 just to cover the transition BUT would like everyone to start using the site address of 2180 E Dexter Trail Dansville MI 48819, starting now 🙂! We will phase out the PO Box. Thank you all so much and I’m sorry for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused, and our own embarrassment as well! Have a blessed day and rest assured God has us still here!

What’s next??!!

Fall term is underway and we welcome new faces all around!!

Trick or Treat on Horseback is right around the corner! Join us as we take your costumed kiddos on a path of treats and delights!! Sunday Oct 25 from 11-3! Donations of treats can be dropped off. We will decorate after our last class on Sat and volunteers needed to pass out treats on Sun! Come join us!!

We will be hosting the Michigan PEP instructor update on Nov 7 for 4H therapeutic riding instructors. No riding that Sat!

CHUM DERBY starts Nov 6! An online fundraiser from Nov 6 to Dec 6! Our therapy horses will ‘run’ in the CHUM DERBY where they move around the track dependent on the amount raised from you all as you sponsor your favorite horse! The race will be ‘announced’ by me from the introduction of each horse as they are in the saddling paddock to the starting gate and throughout the ‘race’. Each week will be 1/4 of the ‘race’ and I’ll announce where the field of horses are in the running, who is lagging and who needs more sponsors and the placings as they move into ‘the next curve’. You can sponsor once or throughout the CHUM DERBY until they cross ‘the finish line’ on Sun Dec 6 at our Christmas Open House NOW AT THE FAIRGROUNDS HALL!!!

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE Dec 6 11-3, AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN MASON!!!!
SANTA will be there, bring your kids for pictures! We want lots and lots of treats and eats for the season for everyone to enjoy! There will be booths with things to do and ways you can include helping CHUM as the year closes!!

Happy fall everyone! As always we have had a busy start to the fall term!
First, August’s finale was a donation of a very nice and very much needed AED for us to have on hand here due to our varied and challenged people we serve! PLEASE GIVE BIG THANK YOUS TO FARM BUREAU INSURANCE AND THE STEVE BERG AGENCY!! And Jess who started it all for us!

Sept marched in with our PATH INTL Premiere Center reaccreditation visit!!! Summer is a crazy busy season between program classes, horse shows, family and more and the facility often looks like it’s been crazy. Stacks of this and totes of that and decorations come down! Doors have all been open so dust and dirt everywhere etc! THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS WHO CLEANED US UP AND MADE EVERYTHING JUST AS IS SHOULD BE!!!! WE RECEIVED A 100% PASSING SCORE! This is good for another 5 years. My 8th accreditation or 40 years of being part of a community who make this possible!

We had the opportunity to present at the MiOTA conference at Eastrtn University!
We also were surprised by the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation with a donation for CHUM!! Thank you all so much! What a blessing for CHUM!
Also one of my riders has an ongoing pop can collection fundraiser she is doing and presented us with her first donation from that!!!

THANK YOU GOD IN YOUR FAITHFULNESS, IN PROTECTION AND PROVISION, BLESS ALL WHO COME, WHO HELP, WHO LOVE ON US AS YOU DO! CONTINUE TO GUIDE US PLEASE.

Volunteers needed 🙂! Hey gang, fall term has started and as many of our crew have gone on to college and careers, we welcome from our hearts the new faces in our staff! Welcome to Darcy and Amanda!! And welcome Jordyn our OT intern this term! The schedule is busy and WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! If you have even just a couple of hours that you would be able to give on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday to walk with the riders or lead a horse etc, we would love to welcome you to the CHUM family! What a crazy busy summer and now we are on to school AND Fall Term Riding at CHUM!! We have a busy schedule with some changes….

Our sweet and talented Sarah will be moving into a new chapter of her life and so I will be covering Saturday classes this fall! We hope to see her continuing her hippotherapy. Jess continues to teach as her other work schedule allows and we are excited for this! Evelyn is now a college student and excited as we are for her, we will have to have her here on a limited basis as she moves into this new part of the amazing life God has planned for her😞!

With these changes, God provides! We have some new staffing to start the fall off! We also finally have our PATH PREMIER CENTER REACCREDITATION IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS! So last minute clean up from summer’s activities are happening.
THIS IS A CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS!

We need you this fall! If you would like to help in the barn, with the riders and horses, and at upcoming events please reach out to me in a text, 517-204-0974. We teach Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sat, come have fun with us!

Congrats Evelyn and Mac, and Laurie and Synderella for there victories at States! The UP outreach was full of victories every day!
