This is going to rub some people the wrong way, but it needs to be said...
I've been seeing a lot of posts lately asking for personal trainer recommendations. I've even been tagged in a few. Most people asking for the "best" personal trainer, don't need a personal trainer. They need a COACH! What's the difference you might ask? The difference is huge. A personal trainer understands human movement and physiology. They can help you change your body. A COACH understands human behavior and motivation. They can help you change your LIFE!
A quick internet search can give you all the information you need that a personal trainer can give you. What exercises to do, proper form, basic nutrition information, etc. It's all there for free. Do you know why personal trainers love to sell 90 day challenges, or packages? Because they know you can do anything for 30, 60, or 90 days. You'll see results and be happy. And then, because you didn't do the hard work of changing your life and behavior, you'll go back to your old ways, the weight comes back, and you think you've failed, so you hire that trainer again, thinking they are the ones that got you results. And the cycle repeats.
A COACH, on the other hand, goes deeper into behavior change. They teach you to change your mindset, not just your body. They get you to dig deep into motivations, reasons, and help you get to the bottom of the root problem, not the symptoms. A COACH teaches you how to do the work and maintain it long after you stop paying them. A good COACH never wants you to fail and come back and pay them again.
If you want to change your body, hire a personal trainer. If you want to change your LIFE, hire a COACH! 🩶⚔️
