Howard L. McGue, 89, of Delphos, passed away Monday morning, June 1, 2026 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

He was born September 27, 1936, in Delphos to the late Ebbie and Nellie I. (Boerger) McGue. On October 26, 1957, he married Sue A. (Wells) McGue who survives in Delphos.

Howard is also survived by his sons, Kevin L. (Susan) McGue of Delphos, Jay E. (Denise) McGue of New Knoxville, and Chad A. (Traci) McGue of Spencerville; daughter-in-law, Gale McGue of Spencerville; and grandchildren, Gregory McGue, Cassandra McGue, Adam McGue, and Cristin McGue.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory L. McGue; brothers, Louis E. McGue, and James R. McGue; sisters, Sara Kennedy and Mae I. Wells; and a grandson, Bradley McGue.

Howard was retired as a carpenter for Flanagan Builders. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Delphos.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ft. Jennings.

Roger W. Mell, 54, of Delphos, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at his home in Delphos.

He was born June 2, 1971 in Lima to Ralph D. Mell Sr. and Patricia Stant who both preceded him in death. On October 20, 1994 he married Heidi (Putt) Mell, they had been divorced.

Roger is survived by his sons, Justin (Whitney) Sully of Elida, and Skyler (Michela) Mell of Delphos; daughter, Ashley (Zach) Sully of Georgetown, KY; brothers, Ralph (Susan) Mell Jr. of Van Wert, Ron (Kendra) Mell of Lubbock, TX, Rick (Trina) Mell of Lima, Roy Mell of Lima, Raymond (Robin) Mell of Lima, and Robert (Laura) Mell of Lima; sisters, Lori (Luke) Miler of Continental, and Teresa (Jeff) Millirans of Lima; and a brother-in-law, Rick Fodor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Laiken, Luci and Leo Sully of Elida, Kaden Stevens, Irelyn, Camryn and Leia Sully of Georgetown, KY.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Becky Fodor; and a grandson, Landin Sully.

Roger was a CDL Driver for Republic Services. He was a member of Delphos First Church. He liked Metallica and racing of all kinds. Above all he loved his family.

DELPHOS – Donald E. Kundert, 87, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born June 22, 1938 in Delphos to Eugene J. and Edith (Ringwald) Kundert who both preceded him in death. On April 11, 1959 he married Judith (Truesdale) Kundert who survives in Delphos.

Don is survived by a daughter, Laura (Larry) Menke of Delphos; sons, Gregory (Jennifer) Kundert of Delaware, and Mark E. Kundert of Columbia City, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Menke, Nicholas Menke, Adam Calvelage, Brooke Ebel-Bloom, Megan Kundert, Lee E. Kundert, and Anna Marie Kundert; great-grandchildren, Colton Menke, Ella Menke, Keller Calvelage, Justice Sparks, Journee Sparks, Olin Kundert, Brenley Davis, Owen Ebel and Phoenix Kundert.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Kundert Calvelage, a sister, Diane (Robert) Rigdon; and a daughter-in-law, Shelly Kundert.

Don was retired after 42 years from the Lima Ford Engine Plant where he had worked as cutter grinder. He had a passion for photography and was a wedding photographer for many years. Always staying busy, he enjoyed working in his workshop doing woodworking, making things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed building Lego Kits, flying model airplanes, golfing, and doing yard work. When the yardwork was done, you could then find him on the patio.

He was a graduate of St. John’s High School and Chicago Institute of Drafting. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; past member of the Delphos Jaycees, and held membership at Delphos Eagles Aerie 471. He was also a member of Welsh Society of Northwest Ohio, former member of the Larks Airplane Club, and charter member of the Jim’s Breakfast Table.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association or to the donor’s choice.

DELPHOS – Barbara A. Burget, 89, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2026 at Vancrest of Delphos.

She was born July 29, 1936 in Lima to Thomas R. and Margaret J. (Hurlow) Jones Torcaso who both preceded her in death. On February 5, 1982 she married Gail L. Burget who preceded her in death November 6, 2019.

Barb is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Gary Burrow) Stimmel of Alvarado, TX, Laura Stimmel of Lima; a step-daughter Kelly (Kevin) Ardner of Delphos and a step-son, David (Mary) Burget of Findlay; six grandchildren, Joel (Tessa Mu) Burget of Portland, Oregon, Julie Burget and Jenna (Baylor Franck) Burget, both of Cincinnati, Sara (Brian) Mueller of Delphos, Melissa (Ben) Maag of Ottawa, and Nicholas (Courtney) Ardner of Ottoville; eight great-grandchildren, Emma Mueller, Carleigh, Jack, Blake and JoAnna Maag, and Layton and Kylynn Ardner and Cleo Burget; and a daughter-in-law, Taffy Stimmel.

She was also preceded in death by a son, John Stimmel; a brother, Tom Jones and her sister Margaret Grove.

Barb had worked at various auto dealerships, the last being Bill Ahl Buick, Inc. in accounting. She was a 1954 graduate of Lima Central High School. She and Gail purchased an auto parts store in Florida where they worked until retirement. She also worked for an accounting firm before moving back to Elida. After retirement, they moved to Elida to be near family. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion.

Barb enjoyed playing the piano, classical music, crossword puzzles and reading.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Rev. Randy Coleman officiating, burial to follow in the Allentown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Elida Immanuel Church or to Marimor Industries.

Fritz A. Obermeyer, age 66, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday evening, May 6, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Lima on March 11, 1960 to Robert Obermeyer and Margaret (Flanagan) Obermeyer. His father survives in Delphos and his mother preceded him in death. He married Sandy (Wiechart) Carder who survives in Delphos.

He is survived by his children, Megan Obermeyer of Columbus and Clay Obermeyer of Delphos; his stepchildren, Craig (Bailey) Carder of Delphos and Trisha (Tony) Kroeger of Lima. Fritz was blessed with two grandsons, Cameron and Cohen Carder. He is also survived by his siblings, James (Jami) Obermeyer of Seattle, Chip (KC) Obermeyer of Seattle, Robbin (Dan) Clark of Durango, CO, and Susan Wieging of Madison, IN. He is also survived by Sandy’s family, Sherryl (Mike) George of Delphos, Deb Braselton of Ft. Wayne, Tony (Laurie) Wiechart of Topeka, KS, and Joel (Alison) Wiechart of Antwerp; his step mother-in-law Elaine Wiechart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fritz was also preceded in death by his twin brother Charlie; brother-in-law, Rick Wieging; mother-in-law, Rosie (Stan) Lyle; and father-in-law, Stan Wiechart.

Fritz found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved most, especially his grandchildren, Cam and Cohen, who were truly his pride and joy. He loved fishing and was a proud member of the Delphos Bass Club. Fritz worked as a pipefitter and retired from Ford after many years of dedicated service. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland (INDIANS) Guardians and Notre Dame athletics. A member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fritz will be remembered for his quiet presence, his sense of humor, the stories he shared and the love he had for the people closest to him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited in heaven with loved ones who went before him.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.

The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Weber Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Delphos Bass Club for the children’s fishing derby or to the donor’s choice.

DELPHOS – William J. McDonough, 89, of Delphos, passed away Monday evening, April 27, 2026, at Vancrest of Delphos.

He was born January 23, 1937, in St. Marys, Auglaize County to the late William J. and Olivia (Stelzer) McDonough Sr. On June 27, 1959, he married Sharon (Turner) McDonough, who preceded him in death on February 4, 2021.

Bill is survived by a daughter, Joan (Bob) Broecker of Lima; two grandchildren Christopher and Shawn D. (Sarah) Broecker both of Spencerville; three great-grandchilden, Cleat, Alma, and Wyatt Broecker; a brother, James McDonough of Rockford, and three sisters, Sarah (Don) Baldauf of Delphos, Elaine (Mike) Schimmoeller of Delphos, and Maureen (Dave) Wright, of Canton, and a brother in law Jim Powell of Lima.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kim McDonough, his brother Charlie McDonough and two sisters, Helen (Frank) Lenhart and Sue Powell, and a sister in law Helen McDonough.

Bill retired in 1996 from West Ohio Gas, which is now Dominion, where he was a service technician and crew leader. He was a member of St. John’s the Evangelist Church. Bill was an avid racing fan having raced Go Karts at the Cridersville Speedway and various other tracks throughout Ohio for many years and raced dwarf cars for three years. He enjoyed watching races at the Limaland Racetrack and was a huge NASCAR fan. When Bill and Sharon wintered in Florida, he loved playing ping pong, earning numerous Senior Olympic medals.

There will be no visitation. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery.

Zachary S. ‘Zach’ Piasecki, age 25, of Ft. Jennings, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at his residence

He was born February 2, 2001 in Lima to Kenny and Karen (Maag) Piasecki, who survive in Ft. Jennings. On June 13, 2026 he was to be married to his soulmate and the love of his life that God brought to him in 2022, Morgan Deffenbaugh of Columbus Grove.

Zach is also survived by two sisters, Brittany (Jay) Leininger of Ft. Jennings, and Alyssa (Cody) Stovall of Centerville. He is also survived by his soon to be in-laws, Darren and Dana Deffenbaugh of Columbus Grove; maternal grandparents, Bill and Norma Maag of Ft. Jennings; his paternal grandparents, Tom and Donna Piasecki also of Ft. Jennings; Morgan’s paternal grandmother, Darlene Deffenbaugh of Columbus Grove; her siblings, Kyle Blair of Alger, Emily (Kyle Goedde) Warmbrod of Columbus Grove, Elizabeth (Brad) Reindel of Van Wert, and Emily Deffenbaugh of Wapak; his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, Sophia, Ellie, and Brody Leininger, and Caleb and Addison Stovall; Morgan’s nieces and nephews, Ella, Anderson, and Asa Blair, Lucas, Carter, Avelynn Warmbrod, Connor, Owen, Ella Goedde, and Izabelle and Maverick Reindel.

Zach was a sales/project manager at Custom Agri Systems in St. Marys. He was passionate about his job, loved to meet farmers where they were. When he wasn’t in the fields meeting with the farmers, he was helping everyone he could. A hugger by nature, he was happy, kind, loving, and made everyone laugh. He enjoyed farming, hunting, gaming, being at the lake, and cruising on his golf cart with Morgan and his dog, Bella, at his side.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23 at Lima Community Church, 2945 N. Cole Street, Lima. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ft. Jennings.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. Visitation will also be an hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Ft. Jennings Fire Department, Lima Community Church, or Ft. Jennings School. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.

James M. Fortener

DELPHOS-James Fortener, age 84, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2026 at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

He was born May 10, 1941 in Delphos to Melvin Fortener and Marcella (Grothouse) Fortener, who preceded him in death. On November 28, 1964 he married Sharon (Buettner) Fortener and they celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on October 17, 2024.

He is survived by sons, Michael (Mandy) of Avon, Indiana and Steven “Stu” (Jennifer) of South Bend Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Justin, Luke and Kyle; a brother, Tom Fortener of Chicago Illinois; a niece, Missy (Josh) Ready; nephew, Andy (Alisha) Fortener.

Jim was a graduate of Delphos St. John’s and a member of the St. John’s the Evangelist Church. He had served in the Army National Guard, and had worked at the Delphos Bending Works. Jim was named the Delphos Herald “Man of the Year”. He was very active in the Delphos community, he served as a City Councilman, he was a member of The Kiwanis Club, the K of C #1362, Ray McKowan Council, Delphos C**n & Sportsman Club, and Delphos Eagles Aerie #471. He served all of these organizations selflessly. Jim was an avid wordsmith, fisherman and Notre Dame fan.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday April 12, 2026 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a K of C Rosary will begin at 5:45 p.m. followed by a Parish Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. The family requests donations being made to any of the organizations that Jim was involved in.

Roger “Butch” Wilson, 75, of Delphos, passed away March 23, 2026, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

He was born November 3, 1950 in Elkins, West Virginia and was raised by his grandparents, Paul and Mary Mace of Norton, West Virginia. He graduated from Coalton High School in 1969.

Roger is survived by his brother, James (Angie) Wilson; daughter, Kimmi (George) Adams; son, Timothy Wilson (Cindy); three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; life-long best friend, Donnie Burns; long-time partner, Cindy Murray and beloved dog, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin. Roger retired from JK-Co Specialty Railcar in 2026. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
