Darlene K. Schulte

Darlene Schulte, 87, of Delphos, passed away Monday morning, June 22, 2026 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

She was born October 29, 1938 in Landeck to Nelson and Celeste ‘Toots’ (Kill) Grothaus who both preceded her in death. On June 23, 1962 she married James Schulte who survives in Delphos.

Darlene is also survived by a son, Duane (Linda) Schulte of Landeck; daughters, Peggy (Craig) Mansfield of Delphos, and Sarah (Brian) Jostpille of Elida; brothers, Jack (Ann) Grothaus, and Dan (Diane) Grothaus, both of Landeck; grandchildren, Meghan (Charlie) Maag, Melanie (David) Harbold, Brice (Kylie) Schulte, Colleen Schulte, Austin (Adrienne) Jostpille, and Morgan Jostpille; and great-grandchildren, Chase, Brielle, Noah, and Larson Maag, Wyatt and Abigail Harbold, Isaiah, Kolbe and Gemma Schulte, Aiden, Dawson, and Mason Jostpille.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Grothaus; and a granddaughter, Kayla Jostpille.

Darlene graduated from Delphos St. John’s, and Frederick’s Beauty School. She went to work at Ginny’s Beauty Shop in Delphos, and then started Darlene Beauty Shop out of her home in 1964 where she continued to cut hair up until she fell a month ago.

She enjoyed casinos, their winter Florida trips for a week at a time, and loved being at Rose Lake with her family, swimming, skiing, and boating. Darlene found great joy and loved following all of her kids and grandkids in all of their activities. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and an avid bowler at the Delphos Bowling Alley.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 26 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Nathan L. Brotherwood

Nathan Brotherwood, age 45, of Delphos, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 30, 1980. Nathan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose life touched countless hearts. He was a part of Marimor for over 43 years. Though Nathan faced challenges throughout his life due to his disability, he was defined not by those challenges but by his loving spirit, joyful personality, and the happiness he brought to everyone around him. Nathan found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working puzzles, collecting stuffed animals, and spending time with his family. He was known for his playful nature and his fondness for hats and new T-shirts.

Those who knew Nathan will always remember his unforgettable hugs—tight squeezes often accompanied by kisses that made everyone feel loved and appreciated. His unique sense of humor and playful antics brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. Nathan taught those around him valuable lessons about unconditional love, acceptance, patience, and finding joy in everyday moments. He had a remarkable ability to brighten a room simply by being himself.

Nathan is survived by his loving parents, Barbara and David Brotherwood of Delphos; his brother, Neil Brotherwood and wife Kassie of Delphos, and their children, Kellen, Kamden, Karson, and Kinsley; his brother, Dustin Brotherwood and wife Laura of St. Augustine, Florida, and their children Taizley and Triton; his sister, Danielle Wills and spouse Alex of Delphos, and their children Dalton and Greyson; and his sister, Michelle Wurst and spouse Logan of Elida, and their children Elysian and Arlen. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Francis and Myrtle Brotherwood; maternal grandparents, Elmer and Felicia Dickman; and a nephew, Roman Wurst.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with burial immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared at weberfh.net.

Marianne M. Schimmoeller

Marianne M. Schimmoeller, 90, of Ft. Jennings, passed away Sunday morning, June 21, 2026 at The Meadows of Kalida surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 7, 1936 in Ottoville to Leo C. and Louella (Martin) Kortokrax. On June 8, 1957 she married Jacob Schimmoeller who survives in Ft. Jennings.

Marianne is also survived by sons, Ed (Deb) Schimmoeller, and Ted (Joyce) Schimmoeller both of Ft. Jennings; daughters, Lynn (Chris) Phillips of Kalida, and Lorie (Jeff) Schroeder of Hicksville; a brother, Jerry (Bea) Kortokrax of Lima; sister, Unalee Kious of Ottoville; grandchildren, Kyle and Cory Schimmoeller, Kari Izor, Dana Phillips, Chelsie DeWees, Megan O’Berry, Rachel Fleming, Micah Schroeder, and Kenzie Schroeder; and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cora and Lincoln Izor, Henry and Mary Schimmoeller, Wesley O’Berry, and Liam Fleming.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Joe Schimmoeller; a brother, Richard (Donna) Kortokrax; a brother-in-law, Arch Kious; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kortokrax.

Marianne had worked at Maag’s Market in Ottoville until she married, then worked at Ft. Jennings Phone Company. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, playing and watching sports, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and gardening. After retirement they wintered in Florida for 15 years. She dearly loved being a homemaker, and was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to The Meadows of Kalida nursing staff and Putnam County Hospice staff.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Betty Fogt

Betty L. Fogt, 86, of Gomer, Ohio walked alongside Jesus to her heavenly home as she left her earthly body behind on 17 June 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Born on 15 April 1940 in Van Wert, Ohio, she was the daughter of Walter David Baker and Marie Lucile Wells Baker.

She graduated from Spencerville High School in 1958 and went on to have a variety of careers, with her favorite being the secretary at Gomer School. Shortly after graduation, Betty married Robert (Bob) Lee Fogt on 18 July 1958, and together they built a life and love that would be inspirational to many throughout the decades to come. Betty and Bob had three children they loved profoundly- Nathan, Robin, and Mark. Their three children would go on to have their own children and those children would go on to have their own children- leading to a total of 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. As Betty would often say, all because two people fell in love.

To know Betty, was to love Betty. She believed the meaning of life was to leave things better than you found them. She did this in many ways- from her healing, consoling, encouraging, kind and thoughtful words to her passion for yardwork. Betty enjoyed traveling and experiencing life on the move. The most notable she would talk about was swimming with dolphins in Hawaii, hiking Green Mountain in Washington, and exploring Ireland. Most know Betty’s deepest passion (aside from her family) was her love of sewing. This passion started early in life when she crafted her wedding dress by using her old prom dress. Betty would later expand her sewing passion into quilting, which she would share with her daughter and daughters-in-law, grand-daughters, and great grand-daughters. She would often attend different quilting shows. Betty used her quilting passion to create lasting, tangible keepsakes for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren- each quilt stitched with love.

She is survived by her sister Janet (Charlie) Worline; her children Nathan (Cheryl) Fogt, Robin (Mark) Mehl, Mark (Jennie) Fogt; her grandchildren Cory (Tressa) Mehl, Eric (Jennifer) Mehl, Sarah (Nathan) Bieszka, Erin (Tolby) Hildbrand, Katy (Jake) Johnson, Hannah (Tyler) Vorst, Kristian Fogt, Darby Fogt, Stacey (Ethan) Yelton, Mearte Winter; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Marie Baker; her siblings Larene (George) Forst, Marion (Goldie) Baker, Ga***rd (Sadie) Baker; her husband Robert Fogt; and her daughter in law, Denise (Nathan) Fogt.

Services will be held on Saturday 20 June 2026 at Gomer Congregational Church. Visitation will begin at 1pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm officiated by Gerald Baker.. At the conclusion of the funeral service, a burial service will occur at Pike Run Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Coffin-Siris Syndrome Foundation, in honor of Ruby, one of Betty’s 22 great-grandchildren. Diane L. Mueller

Diane L. Mueller, 86, of Delphos, passed away Monday evening, June 15, 2026, at The Meadows of Delphos with her children at her side.

She was born November 17, 1939 in Lima to James and Constance (Burghard) Odenweller who both preceded her in death. On August 19, 1961 she married Joseph A. Mueller who preceded her in death on January 21, 2025.

Diane is survived by her son, Brent (Jean) Mueller of Middle Point; daughters, Elise (Nick) Clark and Leah (Nick) Gordon both of Delphos; grandchildren, Elliot (Samantha) Mueller, Marie Mueller, Anna Mueller, Alex (Shelby) Clark, Eric (Jodie) Clark, Cole Gordon, Bailey (Tom Nguyen) Gordon, and Caitlin Gordon; and great-grandchildren, Ayla, Lainey, Eden, Reagan and Vance Clark. Also surviving are her brothers, Gary (Flo) Odenweller of Plainfield, IL, John (Norene) Odenweller of Perrysburg, David (Elaine) Odenweller of Ottawa, and Steven (Barb) Odenweller of Russells Point; and in-laws, Angela (Jerry) Hohlbein of Ottoville, and Sr. Diane (Anna Marie) Mueller of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy (Ronald) Gerdeman; sister-in-law, Janice (William) Deitering; brother-in-law, Fr. Donald Mueller; and her grandson, Kyle Clark.

Diane was a 1960 graduate of St Rita’s School of Nursing. She spent the majority of her career at the former Delphos Memorial Home. Diane was very passionate about providing quality nursing care to her patients.

She was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Diane volunteered many hours at the Delphos Interfaith Thrift Shop, the Red Cross Blood Mobile and was an Allen County Board of Elections poll worker.

Diane loved being a homemaker and mother. She was a master chef, gardener and seamstress. In her spare time she appreciated simple pleasures such as reading, puzzles, playing cards and needle point.

Diane found her deepest purpose in her family. Being a grandmother brought her immense joy. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve and grandchildren summer sleep overs.

Diane is now reunited with her beloved husband, Joe, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Their devotion to each other and their family will always be remembered.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Howard L. McGue

Howard L. McGue, 89, of Delphos, passed away Monday morning, June 1, 2026 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

He was born September 27, 1936, in Delphos to the late Ebbie and Nellie I. (Boerger) McGue. On October 26, 1957, he married Sue A. (Wells) McGue who survives in Delphos.

Howard is also survived by his sons, Kevin L. (Susan) McGue of Delphos, Jay E. (Denise) McGue of New Knoxville, and Chad A. (Traci) McGue of Spencerville; daughter-in-law, Gale McGue of Spencerville; and grandchildren, Gregory McGue, Cassandra McGue, Adam McGue, and Cristin McGue.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory L. McGue; brothers, Louis E. McGue, and James R. McGue; sisters, Sara Kennedy and Mae I. Wells; and a grandson, Bradley McGue.

Howard was retired as a carpenter for Flanagan Builders. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Delphos.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ft. Jennings.

Roger W. Mell

Roger W. Mell, 54, of Delphos, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at his home in Delphos.

He was born June 2, 1971 in Lima to Ralph D. Mell Sr. and Patricia Stant who both preceded him in death. On October 20, 1994 he married Heidi (Putt) Mell, they had been divorced.

Roger is survived by his sons, Justin (Whitney) Sully of Elida, and Skyler (Michela) Mell of Delphos; daughter, Ashley (Zach) Sully of Georgetown, KY; brothers, Ralph (Susan) Mell Jr. of Van Wert, Ron (Kendra) Mell of Lubbock, TX, Rick (Trina) Mell of Lima, Roy Mell of Lima, Raymond (Robin) Mell of Lima, and Robert (Laura) Mell of Lima; sisters, Lori (Luke) Miler of Continental, and Teresa (Jeff) Millirans of Lima; and a brother-in-law, Rick Fodor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Laiken, Luci and Leo Sully of Elida, Kaden Stevens, Irelyn, Camryn and Leia Sully of Georgetown, KY.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Becky Fodor; and a grandson, Landin Sully.

Roger was a CDL Driver for Republic Services. He was a member of Delphos First Church. He liked Metallica and racing of all kinds. Above all he loved his family.

Donald E. Kundert

DELPHOS – Donald E. Kundert, 87, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born June 22, 1938 in Delphos to Eugene J. and Edith (Ringwald) Kundert who both preceded him in death. On April 11, 1959 he married Judith (Truesdale) Kundert who survives in Delphos.

Don is survived by a daughter, Laura (Larry) Menke of Delphos; sons, Gregory (Jennifer) Kundert of Delaware, and Mark E. Kundert of Columbia City, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Menke, Nicholas Menke, Adam Calvelage, Brooke Ebel-Bloom, Megan Kundert, Lee E. Kundert, and Anna Marie Kundert; great-grandchildren, Colton Menke, Ella Menke, Keller Calvelage, Justice Sparks, Journee Sparks, Olin Kundert, Brenley Davis, Owen Ebel and Phoenix Kundert.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Kundert Calvelage, a sister, Diane (Robert) Rigdon; and a daughter-in-law, Shelly Kundert.

Don was retired after 42 years from the Lima Ford Engine Plant where he had worked as cutter grinder. He had a passion for photography and was a wedding photographer for many years. Always staying busy, he enjoyed working in his workshop doing woodworking, making things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed building Lego Kits, flying model airplanes, golfing, and doing yard work. When the yardwork was done, you could then find him on the patio.

He was a graduate of St. John’s High School and Chicago Institute of Drafting. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; past member of the Delphos Jaycees, and held membership at Delphos Eagles Aerie 471. He was also a member of Welsh Society of Northwest Ohio, former member of the Larks Airplane Club, and charter member of the Jim’s Breakfast Table.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Barbara A. Burget

DELPHOS – Barbara A. Burget, 89, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2026 at Vancrest of Delphos.

She was born July 29, 1936 in Lima to Thomas R. and Margaret J. (Hurlow) Jones Torcaso who both preceded her in death. On February 5, 1982 she married Gail L. Burget who preceded her in death November 6, 2019.

Barb is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Gary Burrow) Stimmel of Alvarado, TX, Laura Stimmel of Lima; a step-daughter Kelly (Kevin) Ardner of Delphos and a step-son, David (Mary) Burget of Findlay; six grandchildren, Joel (Tessa Mu) Burget of Portland, Oregon, Julie Burget and Jenna (Baylor Franck) Burget, both of Cincinnati, Sara (Brian) Mueller of Delphos, Melissa (Ben) Maag of Ottawa, and Nicholas (Courtney) Ardner of Ottoville; eight great-grandchildren, Emma Mueller, Carleigh, Jack, Blake and JoAnna Maag, and Layton and Kylynn Ardner and Cleo Burget; and a daughter-in-law, Taffy Stimmel.

She was also preceded in death by a son, John Stimmel; a brother, Tom Jones and her sister Margaret Grove.

Barb had worked at various auto dealerships, the last being Bill Ahl Buick, Inc. in accounting. She was a 1954 graduate of Lima Central High School. She and Gail purchased an auto parts store in Florida where they worked until retirement. She also worked for an accounting firm before moving back to Elida. After retirement, they moved to Elida to be near family. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion.

Barb enjoyed playing the piano, classical music, crossword puzzles and reading.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Rev. Randy Coleman officiating, burial to follow in the Allentown Cemetery.

Fritz A. Obermeyer

DELPHOS

Fritz A. Obermeyer, age 66, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday evening, May 6, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Lima on March 11, 1960 to Robert Obermeyer and Margaret (Flanagan) Obermeyer. His father survives in Delphos and his mother preceded him in death. He married Sandy (Wiechart) Carder who survives in Delphos.

He is survived by his children, Megan Obermeyer of Columbus and Clay Obermeyer of Delphos; his stepchildren, Craig (Bailey) Carder of Delphos and Trisha (Tony) Kroeger of Lima. Fritz was blessed with two grandsons, Cameron and Cohen Carder. He is also survived by his siblings, James (Jami) Obermeyer of Seattle, Chip (KC) Obermeyer of Seattle, Robbin (Dan) Clark of Durango, CO, and Susan Wieging of Madison, IN. He is also survived by Sandy’s family, Sherryl (Mike) George of Delphos, Deb Braselton of Ft. Wayne, Tony (Laurie) Wiechart of Topeka, KS, and Joel (Alison) Wiechart of Antwerp; his step mother-in-law Elaine Wiechart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fritz was also preceded in death by his twin brother Charlie; brother-in-law, Rick Wieging; mother-in-law, Rosie (Stan) Lyle; and father-in-law, Stan Wiechart.

Fritz found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved most, especially his grandchildren, Cam and Cohen, who were truly his pride and joy. He loved fishing and was a proud member of the Delphos Bass Club. Fritz worked as a pipefitter and retired from Ford after many years of dedicated service. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland (INDIANS) Guardians and Notre Dame athletics. A member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fritz will be remembered for his quiet presence, his sense of humor, the stories he shared and the love he had for the people closest to him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited in heaven with loved ones who went before him.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.
