No one can predict exactly how birth will unfold.

But preparing ahead of time can help you walk into labor feeling calmer and confident.

That's why prenatal care shouldn't just check boxes. When you work with our midwifery team, it's about building trust.

Each appointment with our midwives gives time and space to answer questions and talk through birth prep and prenatal care. We want families feel ready for one of life's biggest moments!

If this kind of care sounds right to you, connect with us by heading to our website! You can book a tour, ask questions, and read more about our approach.

Preparing for birth goes beyond packing your birth bag or finishing the nursery. It's also about understanding some of the decisions that may come up before labor even begins.

At Colorado Birth & Wellness, we believe education is one of the best ways to reduce fear. When you understand why an intervention may be offered, and know that you have the opportunity to ask questions, you can approach birth with greater confidence and peace of mind.

This blog introduces some of the most common interventions that may be discussed before labor starts.

It’s important to note, as a natural birth center, we do not do medical indications of labor with medications, but we do use natural options like membrane sweeps, cervical ripening balloons, castor oil, ni**le stimulation, and AROM (breaking water).

Head to our blog (linked below) if you're growing your family and want to know your options.

Nobody really prepares you for how much noise comes with becoming a parent.

The unsolicited advice, stories of comparison, the "should" and "should not."

What matters most, is that you bond with your baby. You're doing better than you think.

Swipe through for your reminder, and send it to a new parent who might need to hear it, too.

Birth centers have been shown to be a safe option for low-risk, healthy people, offering the comfort and reduced stress of a home-like environment with the benefits of a well-equipped health facility.

But what make someone "low risk?" If there are no maternal or fetal complications. That means you may still be a candidate for birth center care if:

🤍 You're over 35.
🤍 You're planning a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)
🤍 Had complications with your first birth.

Some pregnancies do require additional monitoring or hospital-based care, and that's okay too. Conditions like preeclampsia, certain medical concerns, or carrying multiples may mean a different birth setting is the safest choice.

Our goal is never to fit everyone into one birth experience, but rather help every family receive the care that's best suited to their unique pregnancy.

Not sure if you're a candidate for birth center care? We'd love to answer your questions and show you around. Head to the link in our bio so we can connect.
