Every tool in dentistry should have a purpose.

Ozone is one of the supportive tools we offer, valued for its antimicrobial properties and potential role in certain dental procedures.

For me, thoughtful dentistry means understanding the benefits, recognizing the limitations, and choosing what truly makes sense for each patient.

It's always about the bigger picture.

One of the things that has changed the way I practice dentistry is learning to pay closer attention to the little details patients share with me.

A parent mentioning that their child moves around a lot in their sleep. Someone telling me they've never really felt rested, even after eight hours. A patient who has simply gotten used to waking up tired.

These conversations may start in a dental chair, but they often lead us to questions that go far beyond teeth.

That's what I find so meaningful about airway dentistry. It's not about assuming every symptom has the same explanation. It's about being curious enough to look a little deeper and thoughtful enough to know when other healthcare professionals should be part of the conversation.

I want my patients to feel that even the smallest detail is worth sharing. You never know which conversation might help us better understand the bigger picture. 💜

October has a way of making everyone a little more tired… but if you’re waking up exhausted after a full night of sleep, your body might be trying to tell you something.

Save this if your sleep or jaw has been acting a little suspicious lately. 👀

A few reasons you might want to follow me… and maybe a few reasons you might not. 😅

I got into airway dentistry because I kept noticing things I couldn’t ignore, especially children grinding their teeth, snoring, mouth breathing, and struggling with sleep.

That curiosity changed the way I practice dentistry. Now I’m paying attention to how your tongue rests, how your jaws are developing, how you breathe, and yes, I will probably ask how you sleep during a dental appointment.

I don’t believe dentistry has every answer on its own. I believe in asking better questions, collaborating when needed, and continuing to learn.

If that sounds like the kind of dentistry you’re curious about, you’re in the right place. 💜

Hello, October 🍂

A new month is a good reminder that some of the most important health clues can show up while we sleep.

Snoring, mouth breathing, waking with a dry mouth, clenching, grinding, restless sleep, or feeling tired even after a full night can all be worth paying attention to. In my practice, I look at how the mouth, jaws, tongue, and airway may be working together rather than viewing each symptom on its own.

This October, I’m continuing to encourage one simple thing: notice how you’re breathing and sleeping. Those little patterns can sometimes tell us more than we realize.

Here’s to a month of better awareness, better questions, and healthier sleep. 💛

Unclench.

That little reminder might be doing more than you think.

Jaw tension, clenching, headaches, facial soreness, and even worn teeth can sometimes be connected. When I see these signs, I don’t just look at the teeth. I also think about the jaw, the bite, muscle tension, sleep, and airway function.

Your jaw shouldn’t have to work overtime all day.

If clenching or jaw tension has become your normal, it may be worth looking a little deeper.

Imaging helps us look beyond the teeth and better understand how the jaws, airway, and surrounding structures are developing throughout treatment.

In this case, we observed 3 mm forward movement of the upper jaw, 2 mm forward movement of the lower jaw, and 6 mm of expansion in the back half of the palate.

There are a few things I pay close attention to that patients may not immediately connect with their airway.

Regular snoring. Waking up with a dry mouth. Clenching or grinding at night.

None of these signs automatically means there’s an airway problem or sleep apnea, but they can be useful pieces of the bigger picture, especially when they show up alongside restless sleep, mouth breathing, or daytime fatigue.

This is why I don’t always look at the teeth as an isolated part of the body. I’m also thinking about how you’re breathing, how you’re sleeping, and what your mouth may be telling us along the way.

The most important part of an airway evaluation starts with noticing the clues that are easy to overlook. 💜

September felt full in the best way. 🤍

I’m so grateful to every patient who trusted us with an appointment this month, whether you came in with questions, started something new, or simply took another step toward feeling better in your health.

I’m equally grateful for the team behind every visit. The care, conversations, preparation, problem-solving, and little details that happen behind the scenes never go unnoticed.

Thank you for keeping our September busy, meaningful, and full of connection. I don’t take any of it for granted.

Here’s to carrying that same care and curiosity into October. ✨

Sharing with you a few things I’ve saved lately. Little observations that made me stop, think, and look a little closer.

Just a few things worth saving. 💛
