Therapy is a journey - sometimes long, sometimes short, but it’s always yours.

The answers you’re looking for are already within you. Part of our job as therapists is just helping you to reconnect with that, since most of us were conditioned to ignore it for years.

Start slow and stay curious. Remember this is for you 🫶

Empty nest grief is real, even when it’s wrapped in pride.

You can be proud of who they’re becoming and still grieve the daily life you’re leaving behind. Both can be true at once.

The routines shift and the “what do I do with my time now” question sneaks up on you.

💔 There can also be grief about having less communication with your child, knowing less about what is going on, and grieving a lot of childhood memories.

You’re not losing your role as a parent, you’re just learning a new way to hold it.

👉 If this season feels heavier than expected, you don’t have to carry it alone. Therapy can help you to process the grief while navigating this new chapter.

Two years of Meghan bringing her whole self to this team, and we are so much better for it. 🤍

In that time, she’s completed her EMDR training, created our MindBody Connection group for therapists, and shared her MindBody approach to therapy (and life) with all of us.

She’s also brought so much insight into what it’s really like to navigate chronic illness, and the nuances and systems at play.

Beyond the clinical skills, Meghan is just a grounding presence to be around. Steady, warm, and always ready with a laugh when we need it most.

Thank you for all you do, Meghan! We’re so grateful you’re on this team.

Chronic illness doesn’t just change what your body can do.

🖤 It can bring a grief that’s hard to name because there’s no clear ending, no closure, just an ongoing adjustment to a life you didn’t choose.

If you’re in that in-between space of fighting for more and accepting where you are, you’re not doing it wrong.

Hope doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means finding connection and moments of joy even while you’re grieving what’s changed.

👉 Read the full blog for more on navigating this grief (link in bio) and know that support is here when you’re ready for it.

Welcome to our Pop Psychology Series, where we break down the buzzwords you see all over the internet and look at what they actually mean from a clinical perspective.

First up: “Toxic.”

This word is all over social media and has become a catch-all for difficult relationships, conflict, and behaviors we don’t quite understand.

These terms can help us name our experiences, but they’re not diagnoses. Not every hard relationship or difficult person fits neatly into that label.

Therapy makes space to explore the whole picture so you can understand what you need moving forward.

What are your thoughts on the word toxic? 👇

If you’re not getting what you need from therapy, there is nothing wrong with exploring other options.

Here are some signs that you might be ready for a change in providers.

Advocating for your own healing isn’t rude, it is admirable.

We’ve experienced this on both ends as the client and as the therapist - we get it and we support you finding the right fit for you.

👉 We’d love to see if we’re a good fit. Visit the link in our bio to meet our team and schedule a free consultation.
