🚀 PR TOP SPEEDS! 🚀
So many accomplishments to celebrate just 2 weeks of school being back in session. 🔥
Huge congratulations to Christian, Bree, Henry, Ella, Sam, Isaac, Tinsley & Terin on their top-speed PRs on the manual treadmill!
Sprinting isn’t something we save for “speed days.” We incorporate sprinting into every single session because high-quality, maximal-intent sprinting is one of the most powerful tools an athlete has for developing the qualities that transfer to sport.
Why?
⚡ MAX SPEED & ACCELERATION
Maximal sprinting teaches athletes to produce and apply force rapidly, improving neuromuscular coordination, rate of force development, and the ability to move explosively.
💪 STRENGTH & FORCE PRODUCTION
Sprinting places extremely high demands on the lower body. It also helps athletes develop the ability to produce and absorb large forces at high velocities.
💥 EXPLOSIVE POWER
Power = force × velocity. Sprinting trains athletes to express force at high speeds — a quality that carries over to jumping, cutting, changing direction, and virtually every explosive action in sport.
🦵 TISSUE CAPACITY & INJURY RESILIENCY
The tissues athletes ask to tolerate high-speed running need to be progressively exposed to high-speed running. Consistent, appropriately dosed sprinting helps develop the capacity of the hamstrings, calves, achilles tendon, and other structures to handle the demands of competition.
🧠 NEUROMUSCULAR DEVELOPMENT
Maximal sprinting challenges the nervous system to recruit and coordinate muscle fibers at extremely high rates. For developing athletes, regular exposure to high-velocity movement is a critical piece of becoming faster, stronger, more coordinated, and more resilient.
The goal isn’t simply to make an athlete “run fast.”
We’re building athletes who can produce force, express power, move efficiently, tolerate high forces, and perform at their highest level — while staying healthy enough to keep doing it.
Sprint fast. Get strong. Get explosive. Build resilient athletes.
Keep chasing those PRs. 👊🔥
