On FOX 2’s Doctor Is In, EPIC Health co-founder Dr. Greg Naman explains why women should know their breast cancer risk by age 25, long before their first mammogram.

Here’s how your risk is figured out:
✔️ Your family history: talk to your relatives and gather as much as you can
✔️ Proven risk-assessment tools, like the one from the National Cancer Institute

🎀 National Mammography Day
Today is a reminder to make your breast health a priority.
A mammogram is an important screening tool that can help detect breast cancer, sometimes before you notice any signs or symptoms (a mammogram can detect breast cancer up to three years before it can be felt physically).

For women at average risk, the CDC recommends getting a mammogram every 2 years starting at age 40, but our personal screening schedule may be different if you have a higher risk of breast cancer, a family history, or other risk factors. Talk with your EPIC healthcare provider about what's right for you.
