We had a wonderful afternoon today celebrating our July birthdays. As usual our activity director, Amy Pixley, had a beautiful setting with a table of delicious desserts and snacks.

Residents Linda Smith, Wanda Thomason, Nell Berry and Lynn Morgan all had July birthdays.

We asked the ice cream truck to come to Central Gardens so the residents and staff could enjoy an afternoon treat. Of course everyone loves a cool treat on a hot afternoon.

After a great lunch at Cracker Barrell, some of the residents went to Century Casino.

Today some of our residents went to Cape Girardeau where we had lunch at Cracker Barrell. Then a few of them went to Century Casino for some afternoon enjoyment. Everyone had a great time today.

CNA celebration week ended last week but a very special CNA of ours was not here to celebrate until after the festivities were over. Brenda Aguilar has been employed at Central Gardens for almost 32 years. Brenda started when the doors opened in 1994. Brenda’s compassion and detailed care with each and every resident shines through every single day. She is a role model to all and sets the bar high with the care she provides to our seniors.

Brenda returned to work and received her gifts from CNA week after taking a well deserved seventeen day vacation, spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. We are glad to have her back.

Yesterday was day 5 of CNA week. We celebrated by having ice cream sundaes for the aides and residents.
