Of course, we had to capture it through these photos đź’™

It has been such a meaningful month as OCD and our organization received representation through various avenues within our state.

Albie, a 10-year-old campaigner from Oxfordshire, has lit up the London Eye to raise awareness for Paediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome.

The condition causes severe psychiatric symptoms in children and Albie started his campaigning after a family member was diagnosed with it.

An element of our mission at OCD Delaware is allowing for spaces that can positively uplift the stories and experiences of others impacted by OCD and related disorders in Delaware.

In sharing, working to allow others who may be experiencing similar to feel less alone, while meeting messages of hope with avenues that may assist those living with OCD or a related disorder to work toward more empowered, values driven lives.

Thank you Golden Tide Visuals for capturing these photos from this year’s Grand Marshal speech at our second annual 💙 International OCD Foundation

It has been a busy, but meaningful few weeks!

Each night this week, the Indian River Inlet Bridge has been illuminated teal in recognition of OCD Awareness Week.

This has been such an exciting representation for those impacted by OCD and related disorders near the Delaware beaches 💙🌅

Thank you again to board member, Gina, for all of your efforts in organizing this lighting. The Indian River Inlet Bridge and Legislative Hall will remain illuminated through tomorrow night, Saturday, October 17th.

October 11–17 is OCD Awareness Week. Last Thursday, October 8th, board members Mackenzie Reed and Dr. Kathy Rupertus had the opportunity to join CoastLife TV to share more about OCD and OCD Awareness Week.

This was our first in-person interview as an organization, and such an honor to be able to share about our efforts ahead of a week that means so much to those living with or impacted by the disorder.

Thank you CoastTV News for this opportunity and to share about the impact that OCD can have on individuals throughout the state. Each night this week, Legislative Hall and the Indian River Inlet Bridge will be illuminated in teal in recognition of OCD.

More information about 2026 OCD Awareness Week efforts can be found at iocdf.org/programs/ocdweek đź’™

Seeing our organization come together over the last two years has been a reminder that, no matter how difficult OCD may be, there is always hope. This is one of those reminders that makes it all feel worth it.

Last night, October 9, Delaware Legislative Hall was illuminated in green in recognition of PANS/PANDAS Awareness Day and those impacted by these conditions in our state đź’š

PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) are conditions characterized by the sudden onset of OCD symptoms and/or severe food restriction, often accompanied by other neurological, behavioral, and psychiatric symptoms.

PANDAS is associated with strep infections, while PANS may involve a broader range of potential triggers.

Awareness of neuroimmune conditions, including PANS and PANDAS, is vital to early recognition, diagnosis, and access to appropriate care that may contribute to reduced time spent unnecessarily suffering.

Awareness like this is how effective begins, and we are grateful to see it represented in our state.

The beauty of community and holding to a shared mission.

Thank you to everyone who supported our second annual OCD walk. It was an amazing day and it meant so much to come together for a cause that matters, in its own way, to all who attended.
