Halloween doesn’t have to look the same for every child🎃🤍
For some kids, the costumes, crowds, noises, lights, and changes in routine are exciting. For others, it can all feel like a lot — and both experiences are okay.
As we get ready for Halloween, a few small adjustments can make the day feel more comfortable and enjoyable:
✨ Let them wear what feels good — even if it isn’t a costume.
✨ Prepare them for what to expect.
✨ Bring familiar snacks, comfort items, or sensory supports.
✨ Take breaks, leave early, or skip an activity altogether.
✨ And remember… **staying home is okay too.** Going out and about is not a requirement for making Halloween special.
There is no “right” way to celebrate💛
Whether your child says “trick or treat,” waves from a distance, wears headphones, hands out candy from home, lasts for three houses, or decides they’re completely done after five minutes — meet them where they are.
A successful Halloween is one where your child feels safe, supported, and accepted🧡
