👁️💧 Struggling with dry, burning, irritated, or watery eyes?

If you’re constantly rubbing your eyes or reaching for drops, your eyes may be signaling a problem. Dry eye can cause burning, stinging, redness, a gritty feeling, excessive watering, light sensitivity, or blurry vision. While over-the-counter drops may seem like an easy fix, not all eye drops work the same way.

🔴 What about “redness relief” drops?
Brands like Visine, Clear Eyes, and Opcon-A offer drops that reduce redness by temporarily constricting blood vessels, making eyes appear clearer.
However, these drops don’t treat the underlying cause of dryness or irritation. Frequent use can lead to rebound redness, causing you to rely on them more.
Not all products from these brands are the same, so always check the active ingredients and intended use.

💧 What about artificial tears?
Lubricating drops like Refresh, Systane, TheraTears, and Blink are designed to moisturize the eye and may provide better relief for dry eye symptoms.
Still, artificial tears aren’t one-size-fits-all. Different formulations and ingredients mean the best option depends on what’s causing your dry eye.

We wanted to let our patients know about a one-time change to our Saturday schedule for August!

While we’re normally open every other Saturday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, we will be CLOSED on Saturday, August 8.

Our upcoming Saturday hours are:
🗓️ Saturday, July 25: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
🗓️ Saturday, August 22: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Please note: Our closure on August 8 is a one-time exception and will not affect our regular every other Saturday schedule. After this temporary closure, we’ll continue with our normal Saturday rotation.

If you need to schedule an appointment, pick up your glasses or contacts, or stop by to see us, please plan accordingly.

This real patient story highlights why we value advanced retinal imaging at Eye Check.

A patient came in for a routine eye exam with no major vision concerns. Thanks to Optomap retinal imaging, a small retinal tear was detected in the far peripheral retina, something that could have led to a much more serious problem if left untreated.
