Watch Jane explain exactly what she is looking for when conducting an assessment prior to Myofascial Release Therapy.

She observes the patient’s body by looking at the posture, starting from the pelvis. By checking the angle of the pelvis, comparing the height of one side to the other, she can tell if work on elongating either side is necessary.

An imbalance of the pelvis will create misalignment of the spine, which will results in further misalignment upwards.

In this particular case, the patient is also demonstrating a need to focus on the shoulders and neck as they appear visibly different on either side of the head.

So much can be deduced from an evaluation with a trained eye. By reviewing each patient in such a manner, Jane is able to recognize exactly what areas need attention and where to start.

The evaluation is done within minutes and allows for each Myofascial Release treatment and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy session to be tailored to exactly what that individual needs at the time.

Each session is 60-minutes of one-on-one, hands on manual therapy with Jane. We see that by patients commuting to consistent treatment, we help them resolve pain and dysfunction throughout the body.

This form of treatment is perfect for anyone experiencing pain, tightness, limited range of motion, recovering from an injury, a desire to stay active and feel good in their bodies, pregnant or postpartum women, people with pelvic pain, incontinence, bladder or bowel issues, painful in*******se and diastasis recti.

We have two clinic locations to treat patients for pain in Easton and Chester, Maryland. Not in Maryland but want help? Contact us and we can help you find someone in your area.

See how Jane levels the pelvis. After an assessment, Jane can see how the pelvis is sitting and if it needs to be realigned. The pelvis is the base where the spine sits and the lower body starts. The mobility and stability of the pelvis affects everything above and below.

Dropping into the present moment is important during treatment. Focusing on the sensations and mentally inviting the release can help the body to listen and let go.

Jane is an expert in Myofascial Release Therapy which uses intentional pressure during prolonged holds to create elongation in the connective tissues. The fascia releases with these essential factors: gentle/intentional pressure and time. The process cannot be rushed, simply experienced and enjoyed. We see effective results of the tension and pain relief through targeted treatment of the fascia through Myofascial Release Therapy.

Over time, our fascia can become taut due to injury, trauma, posture, habits, and daily activities. These places where the fascia has adhesions are known as “knots” and are felt as areas of pain and tension. While deep tissue massage or other forms of treatment may be used, unless we specifically treat the fascia, the tension will remain. With the tension can come chronic pain, nerve pain, tension, and injury as the body begins to compensate for a lack of mobility.

Myofascial Release Therapy is a gentle, holistic way to ensure your body is aligned and your connective tissues are as free to move as possible.

Watch Jane perform a routine evaluation prior to treatment! This step is crucially informative as to how she will approach treatment.

The beauty is what she is able to discover by simply observing and using her trained eye, along with simple, guided instructions. Also, each session is based upon exactly what the patient is needing that day.

By listening to what her patient needs, making her own assessment of the body through posture and motion, she can holistically address any pain and dysfunction in the body.

At SerendipPT, we are looking for the root of the issue and how to effectively resolve it without medications or surgeries. By using techniques like Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) and dry needling, we have helped countless individuals overcome issues like chronic pain, pelvic pain, incontinence, painful in*******se, and prepare their bodies for pregnancy, or injury prevention.

We find that while pain may be experienced in one part of the body, it is often radiating from somewhere else. Many of our patients are coming from specialists like urologists, orthopedics and gynecologists that have exhausted their efforts and expertise.

Don’t give up! We can help as your #1 provider from Myofascial Release Therapy and Pelvic Floor Therapy in Chester and Easton, Maryland

Today, many of us have the privilege of being with our loved ones. Some of us may be resting, taking off of work, gathering, and spending time together. May we remember the reason for this federal holiday.

It is an absolute privilege to live in a place where we feel safe with liberties to express ourselves and pursue our dreams. This privilege is due to the ultimate cost of many, and may we never forget their acts of courage and bravery to keep us safe.

Another great study session yesterday leading the Maryland’s Eastern Shore MFR study group.

What fun to practice Myofascial Release Therapy techniques on my MFR tribe and guide them in refining their touch and methods.

It is always lovely connecting with Mary Trotter, Raylen Williams, and Anna Brammer!

Dry needling releases trigger points (tight muscle bands) to provide pain relief & improved motion. You can undo the tension created by prolonged time at the computer.

Fascia contains nociceptors ( pain detecting nerves). Dry needling releases the trigger points in the fascia. When we combine dry needling with Myofascial release, you have pain relief so you can get back to doing the things that make you happy.
