The staff of Heishman Funeral Home Inc., Heishman Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Robert "Sutton" Booth

Robert “Sutton” Booth, 85, of Edinburg, died at Admiral Health and Rehabilitation in Arlington on August 24, 2026. Sutton was born in 1941, in Washington County, Virginia, to Edward Leo Booth and Ruth Maiden Booth (nee’ Tilson).

In 1970, he moved with his family to the Shenandoah Valley and established Hideaway Farms in Edinburg, which he operated until his lifelong physical limitations caught up with him.

Sutton was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Victor “Tex” Lawson. He is survived by his sister, Judy Booth Lawson, of Woodstock, and his niece, Wendi Lawson See of Summerville (SC).

Sutton had many friends in the community - neighbors, random people who picked him up on the side of the road to give him rides to town, and the men who sat next to him on the bench at Walmart. He especially enjoyed spending time fixing things that were not broken, tending to his livestock, going to stock sales, and stubbornly doing things he probably...
