It's day 1 of National Assisted Living Week and today was TRAVEL DAY. We had a hallway chat and talked about careers and the places those jobs have taken us, then we played a "where in the world am I" trivia game to guess a location from a series of clues. Dorothy gets the "most stamps on her passport" award - she knew almost all the answers and had been to many of the sites.

Today, we learned the story of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes and how origami cranes became used as a symbol of peace and love after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, then we learned how to fold our own cranes. We made 10 all togehter... only 990 to go!

The activity room smells SO GOOD. We made homemade potpourri sachets today with dried flowers, dried oranges, cloves, and essential oils. Participants took their custom potpourri bags home to add fresh scent to their apartments!

We've been on the longest road trip of our lives! Since February, we've gone through every major stop along Route 66, from Chicago to OKC to the balloon festival in Albuquerque to the Santa Monica Pier! We had a great time at our "End of the Road" party last night.

It's Book Sale time! Residents went to the fairgrounds to treasure hunt for amazing books and media. Our Bradford library chair, Marilyn, found some great books for our campus library! The Friends of the Metropolitan Library System booksale is going on today and tomorrow.
