Clocks fall back this Sunday, and that means darker evenings are on the way.

If a late-afternoon doctor visit, dialysis or therapy appointment means your loved one is driving home in the dark, let us take the wheel. Our transportation team offers door-to-door help in wheelchair-accessible vans, and we make sure every rider gets there and back home safely.

Thank you to Jesse LaFever, our Director of Transportation, and Joe Shackleford, our VA Liaison, along with every one of our drivers, for keeping our neighbors safe on Kentucky roads.

October is Residents' Rights Month, a time to honor the dignity and choices of every person receiving long-term care, whether in a facility, at home, or in their community. This year's theme is "Join Us at the Table."

At Golden Years, we take that to heart. Lunch at the Day Center is more than a meal. It's where stories get told, family recipes get remembered, and everyone has a say in what they enjoy. Their preferences matter. Their traditions matter. Their voice matters.

Home is where they want to be.

For a lot of folks, staying at home just takes a little help with the everyday stuff: getting ready in the morning, a meal made in their own kitchen, some light housekeeping, a reminder or an errand run. Our attendant care staff do it with patience and respect, so your loved one can keep living life their way.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this one's simple: check in on the women you love.

Your mom. Your grandmother. Your sister. Your wife. Your best friend. About 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and the risk goes up as we get older. Sometimes a gentle reminder from someone who loves her is the nudge she needs to call and schedule that mammogram.

To every survivor, every woman in the fight, and every family member walking beside her, we see you, and we're praying for you. 💗
