One of the questions Dr. Reynolds gets pretty often is how someone knows when it's actually time to consider blepharoplasty.

For most patients, the changes around the eyes start showing up somewhere in the mid to late 40s; though some notice it as early as their 30s.

It usually comes down to a few things: extra skin on the upper or lower eyelids, fat accumulation that creates a shadowing or slightly bulging appearance, and that frustrating moment when people start asking if you're tired when you're not.

For some women, the upper eyelid skin becomes enough of an issue that applying makeup starts to feel difficult.
