This Nurses Week, we celebrated the compassion, dedication and professionalism of the nurses who make a difference every day at Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare.

From honoring the legacy of Florence Nightingale with a special commemorative gathering to participating in our Blessing of the Hands ceremony led by our chaplain, the week provided meaningful opportunities to recognize the impact nurses have on patients, families and one another.

Their commitment to excellence helps drive the high standards of care that earned Del Sol Medical Center and Las Palmas Medical Center recognition among the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety through the 2026 Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™.

Welcoming a new baby can bring joy, excitement and emotional changes you may not expect. Understanding the difference between the "baby blues" and postpartum depression is an important part of caring for your health after childbirth.

🔹 Baby Blues are temporary, mild mood changes that often begin a few days after delivery and typically improve within two weeks.

🔹 Postpartum Depression is a more serious condition that can involve persistent sadness, anxiety, hopelessness or difficulty bonding with your baby. Symptoms may begin during pregnancy or within the first year after delivery and can last for months without treatment.

At Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare, we believe caring for mothers includes supporting their emotional well-being. If you are struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety or overwhelming emotions during or after pregnancy, help is available.

When our community needs us, we show up! Throughout National Volunteer Month, more than 100 Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare colleagues volunteered more than 400 hours in support of local nonprofit organizations across El Paso. Together, we helped address important community needs, including food insecurity, support for vulnerable populations and environmental stewardship initiatives.

Giving back is part of who we are. We are proud to partner with organizations that strengthen our community and create opportunities for healthier tomorrows for the people we serve.
