Pelvic health for kiddos!

Did you know that’s a thing? Welp it is and I’m spending two full days immersing myself in learning to continue to help this community!

I hear lots of moms who are concerned about their kids, bowel or bladder habits. Or maybe who struggled with bowel and bladder habits as a child themselves and it’s impacting them now as adults.

I think bowel and bladder habits should be a true vital sign, it gives us so much information about what’s going on with our body and our overall health. Follow along if you think so too!

A friendly reminder about communication📢

I love getting text that “my muscles are so sore”, “that exercise helped”, and of course birth announcements and baby photos. I’m here to celebrate your wins in all the ways!

That being said, scheduling changes, cancellations, urgent needs or anything needing a timely response (professional things) should go through the proper channel, so nothing gets missed.

I don’t always check my texts throughout the day while I’m working with patience so please leave a voicemail 📞

Today we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer, it is a day shaped by sacrifice, courage, and loss.

We remember those who never made it home, whose lives were cut short in service to something greater than themselves. We also hold space for the families who carry that loss every single day, the spouses, children, parents, siblings, and friends whose lives were forever changed.

May we never take their sacrifice for granted. May we live with gratitude for the freedoms we have, and with compassion for those whose loved ones paid the highest price.

Today, we remember.

PCOS got a name change!

The shift is from the ovaries to the metabolic system.

The ovaries are not the root cause, symptoms are largely driven by insulin resistance and metabolic function, which mean it fetta many organs and systems.

Ovaries (irregular or absent ovulation)
Pancreas (insulin regulation)
Liver (glucose handling)
Brain (hormone signaling & appetite cues)
Adrenal system (androgens, stress response)
Skin & hair (acne, hair growth, hair loss)
Fertility
Mood
Inflammation

Real management goes beyond birth control, it often includes:
Improving insulin sensitivity (nutrition, strength training, sleep)
Nervous system regulation & stress support
Addressing inflammation
Supporting ovulation, not just masking cycles
Targeted supplements/medications when needed
Pelvic health support for downstream symptoms
Education so you understand what your body is doing
