Today, our SADD Youth Leaders traveled to Knoxville to attend a regional leadership summit, where they joined students and prevention professionals from across Northeast Tennessee to learn, collaborate, and grow as community leaders.
The van ride included plenty of laughs and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. 😄
Throughout the day, students gained valuable skills in event planning, campaign development, and effective ways to bring prevention messages and positive change back to their schools and communities. They learned how to turn ideas into action, engage their peers, and create meaningful movements that promote safe and healthy choices.
Our youth also had the opportunity to connect with other coalitions from across the region, sharing ideas, experiences, and strategies for making a difference. One highlight of the day was learning how to facilitate the Quick Click Challenge, an interactive activity that teaches the importance of seat belt safety in a fun and engaging way.
We are incredibly proud of these young leaders for giving up part of their weekend to invest in their future and the future of Carter County. The knowledge, confidence, and connections they gained today will help strengthen prevention efforts throughout our community.
Thank you to SADD Tennessee and Payton Avery who made this opportunity possible!
