πŸ“š Back-to-school season is here, and it's about more than school supplies!

As kids head back to the classroom, their bodies take on new challenges. Heavy backpacks, long hours at a desk, sports practices, changing routines, and exposure to more germs can all add up.

A back-to-school chiropractic checkup is a great way to support your child's growing body. Pediatric chiropractic care helps promote:

🍎 Healthy movement
🍎 Healthy posture
🍎 Nervous system function
🍎 Immune system optimization

Start the school year on the right foot with a pediatric chiropractic checkup.

We'll evaluate your child's posture, movement, and spinal health, answer your questions, and recommend any supportive care they may benefit from. While you're here, ask about our children's immune-support nutraceuticals to help keep your family healthy this school year!

As kids grow, their bodies go through constant change. From learning to walk and carrying heavy backpacks to climbing, playing sports, and taking the occasional tumble, childhood is full of physical stress.

At Schneider Clinic, some of the most common concerns we hear from parents include:

βœ”οΈ Colic
βœ”οΈ Repeated ear infections
βœ”οΈ Poor posture
βœ”οΈ Growing pains
βœ”οΈ Headaches
βœ”οΈ Neck or back discomfort
βœ”οΈ Limited range of motion
βœ”οΈ Frequent falls and sports-related bumps

One of the biggest misconceptions about pediatric chiropractic care is that it's the same as care for adults. In reality, every adjustment is carefully tailored to a child's age, size, and stage of development.

If you've been wondering whether chiropractic care might be right for your child, we'd be happy to answer your questions.

πŸ‘Ά Did you know late summer and early fall are the busiest months for births in the U.S.? That means many moms in our community are in the final stretch of pregnancy!

As exciting as this season is, it's also when we hear a lot of comments like:
🀰 "I can't get comfortable at night."
🀰 "My hips ache every time I stand up."
🀰 "Rolling over in bed has become a workout!"

While these changes are common, we're sharing some tips to help your body stay more comfortable:

βœ”οΈ Stay hydrated - Your joints, muscles, and the rest of your body function best when you're well hydrated.

βœ”οΈ Keep moving - Gentle walks and pregnancy-approved exercise can help reduce stiffness and improve circulation.

βœ”οΈ Change positions often - Sitting or standing in one position for too long can increase muscle tension and joint discomfort.

βœ”οΈ Wear supportive shoes - As your posture changes, supportive shoes can help reduce stress on your feet, knees, hips, and lower back.

βœ”οΈ Sleep with support - A pillow between your knees or under your growing belly may help you find a more comfortable sleeping position.

βœ”οΈ Lift carefully - Bend at your knees instead of your waist whenever possible, and avoid twisting while lifting.

βœ”οΈ Listen to your body - Fatigue and discomfort are your body's way of telling you it's time to slow down and rest.

βœ”οΈ Consider chiropractic care - Pregnancy causes your posture, spine, and pelvis to change almost daily. Gentle, pregnancy-specific chiropractic adjustments can help improve joint movement, support pelvic balance, and keep you as comfortable and active as possible throughout your pregnancy.

If you're expecting, we hope you're taking time to care for yourself, too. Wishing all of the growing families in our community a healthy, comfortable pregnancy and a joyful welcome to their newest little ones! 🩷

πŸ‘Ά Is it just a "phase"β€”or is it birth stress?

If you're navigating the exhausting blur of colic, reflux, or breastfeeding struggles, you’ve probably been told to "just wait it out". But a landmark new study involving 145 infants under the age of one suggests these challenges might actually be rooted in the physical marathon of birth itself!

Researchers Dr. Andrew Dorough and Dr. Joel Alcantara analyzed how labor and delivery mechanics impact a baby's fragile, developing nervous system. The findings are incredibly eye-opening for parents:

πŸ“Š The Key Stats From the Study:

β–ͺ 100% of the infants examined exhibited excessive neck muscle tension (cervical muscle hypertonicity), which is the body's protective response to birth trauma.

β–ͺ 98.62% showed swelling (joint edema) in their cervical spine, a hallmark marker of a birth stress-strain injury.

β–ͺ 77.93% faced breastfeeding challenges, which researchers linked directly to structural tension in the neck, skull, and jaw interfering with nerve function.

β–ͺ 71.72% of the mothers experienced prolonged labor (over 12 hours), putting significant biomechanical strain on their baby's frame.

Pediatric chiropractic care uses gentle, age-appropriate techniques to help restore healthy movement and support normal nervous system function.

Just as newborns routinely have their weight, hearing, and heart checked, some parents also choose to have their baby's spine and nervous system evaluated after birth.

Have you ever considered a pediatric chiropractic evaluation for your little one? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

"I just can't seem to get comfortable anymore." 🀰

That's something we hear from many of our pregnancy patients.

As your baby grows, your body is constantly adapting. Your center of gravity shifts, pregnancy hormones relax your ligaments, and your spine and pelvis take on new demands, all of which can lead to discomfort.

Some of the most common complaints we hear include:
β€’ Low back pain
β€’ Hip or pelvic discomfort
β€’ Sciatica
β€’ Difficulty getting comfortable while sleeping
β€’ Pain when walking or changing positions

Pregnancy-specific chiropractic adjustments are designed to:
β€’ Improve balance, alignment, and flexibility
β€’ Lessen morning sickness and nausea
β€’ Detect, prevent, and correct fetal malposition
β€’ Lessen back pain, neck pain, and joint pain

The goal isn't only to relieve discomfort; it's also to help your body move and function well during this stage of life.

If you're expecting and have questions about chiropractic care, we're always happy to help you learn more. 🩷

Despite what social media might suggest, detoxing isn't about a weekend cleanse or a special drink. It's a natural process your body is constantly performing through your liver, kidneys, lungs, digestive system, skin, and lymphatic system.

When chronic stress, inflammation, environmental exposures, or ongoing illness place extra demands on the body, those natural processes may need additional support.

That's why for some patients, we may recommend therapies like medical ozone or EBOO as part of a personalized functional medicine plan. These therapies are designed to support healthy oxygen utilization, circulation, immune function, and the body's natural detoxification processes. They're not a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all solution, but they can be valuable tools alongside nutrition, lifestyle changes, and other functional medicine therapies.

If you're ready to optimize your natural detox pathways, we'd love to help.

Many of our patients have different diagnoses, but they often tell us a similar story:

πŸ’¬ "I'm exhausted, even after sleeping."
πŸ’¬ "I can't shake the brain fog."
πŸ’¬ "I keep getting sick."
πŸ’¬ "I've tried supplements, medications, and different diets, but I still don't feel like myself."

Instead of asking, "How do we fix this symptom?" we ask, "What's preventing the body from functioning the way it was designed to?"

Many chronic illnesses share common underlying challenges, including inflammation, poor oxygen utilization, and added stress on the body's natural healing processes. That's why we often include medical ozone therapy or EBOO as part of a personalized care plan. These therapies are designed to support healthy circulation, immune function, oxygen utilization, and the body's natural detoxification processes alongside nutrition, lifestyle changes, and other functional medicine therapies.

If you've been searching for answers instead of temporary fixes, we'd love to help you take the next step toward understanding your health.

Every summer, we start hearing some of the same comments from patients:

β˜€οΈ "My back was doing okay until we took a road trip."

β˜€οΈ "I spent a weekend gardening and now my back is bothering me again."

β˜€οΈ "I've been more active lately, but my back just isn't keeping up."

While summer activities don't necessarily cause back problems, they often reveal underlying issues that may have been developing for years.

A common culprit? The spinal discs.

These discs act as cushions between the bones of your spine. Over time, they can lose hydration and resilience, making them less effective at absorbing stress from everyday activities like sitting, bending, lifting, and traveling.

That's why things like long car rides, yard work, golfing, and other summer activities can sometimes bring symptoms to the surface.

For patients with disc-related back pain, one option we offer is Disc Rehydration Therapy, a combination of spinal decompression and targeted IV nutritional support designed to help create an environment that supports healthier disc function.

If your back seems to flare up every summer, it may be worth looking beyond the symptoms and exploring what's happening beneath the surface.
