Patriot Day & National Day of Service and Remembrance🇺🇸

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the heroes who stepped forward to help, and reflect on the incredible spirit of unity and service that followed.

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we encourage our community to honor this day through service. Whether you give your time, lend a helping hand, or simply do something kind for a neighbor, every act of service makes our community a little stronger.🧡

TOMORROW (Friday 9/11) starts our weekend of service to honor those affected by the events from 25 years ago.

Friday 9/11
9am to 11 am - Drop off donations of jeans or items for Best Day Boxes for Communities In Schools of Northeastern Nevada - Elko County at locations in Spring Creek, Elko, and Wells
10 am to Noon - Join me at Ruby Mountain Resource Center to help organize clothing donations OR you can call them to set up your own time anytime between 9 am and 4 pm

Saturday 9/12
8 am to 11 am - Paint fences at Spring Creek Marina or Spring Creek Sports Complex for Spring Creek Association
8 am to Noon - Grab your chainsaw or pruning equipment or just show up with gloves to help clear overgrowth at the NEW Elko location of the Northern Nevada Food Bank
9 am to 4 pm - Organize clothing donations at Ruby Mountain Resource Center. Call them to set up a time that works for you!
8 am to Noon - Clean up around The City of Elko. Call Assistant City Manager Dale Johnson if you need bags or to arrange pick up.

Happy Labor Day from Ruby Mountain Resource Center!

Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers throughout our community, including our incredible RMRC team!🧡

Please note that RMRC will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. We hope our staff, participants, customers, and community enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday!

We look forward to seeing you when we reopen tomorrow, 9/8!

From clothing and shoes to home décor, toys, books, jewelry, electronics, and more, there’s something on sale nearly every day. September is also a month for service. This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and we’re proud to be part of our community’s 9/11 Day of Service efforts. RMRC has partnered with JustServe alongside The City of Elko, Northern Nevada Food Bank, Spring Creek Association, and others to offer local volunteer opportunities.

We invite our community to honor the day through service and giving back. Volunteer opportunities can be found through JustServe.org, and you can learn more about the national 9/11 Day movement at 911Day.org.

Reminder: Ruby Mountain Resource Center will be closed on Monday, July 20 as our team participates in a full day of staff training.

Investing in our staff means investing in the individuals we serve. This training allows our team to strengthen their knowledge, enhance their skills, and continue providing the highest quality support to the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back during our regular business hours on Tuesday, July 21.
