🥵HEAT ADVISORY FOR OKLAHOMA🌞

The temperatures are dangerously high this week! Please take extra precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones. ❤️

💊 Did you know? Some antidepressants, including many SSRIs (such as Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Celexa, and Paxil), can make it more difficult for your body to regulate its temperature. This may increase the risk of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

💧 Drink plenty of water: even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🧊 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
☀️ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day when possible.

🏈⚽ Coaches, parents, and athletes: Please remember that some players may be taking antidepressant medications without others knowing. During extreme heat, encourage:
💦 Extra water breaks
🌳 More frequent rest periods in the shade
🥵 Watching closely for signs of heat illness
❤️ Speaking up if they begin to feel dizzy, weak, nauseated, or unusually tired

🚨 Know the warning signs:
❗ Dizziness
❗ Headache
❗ Nausea or vomiting
❗ Muscle cramps
❗ Excessive sweating or no sweating despite the heat
❗ Confusion or fainting

📞 If someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, has a body temperature above 103°F, or shows signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.

🤝 Please check on elderly family members, neighbors, young children, and anyone with chronic medical conditions during this heat wave.

🌡️ Stay hydrated. Stay cool. Stay safe.

After-school registration opens Wednesday, July 15th!

We are excited to Level Up the School Year with members!

The last day of the summer program will be Friday, July 31st. The Club will be closed August 3rd-12th for staff training, cleaning, and preparing for the new school year.

After-school programming will begin on Wednesday,August 13th.

Memorial Day is often spent with family, food, and time together, but behind the long weekend is a deeper reminder of the lives that were given in service to others. 🇺🇸

At Pinnacle Care, we recognize that sacrifice does not only impact those who served. It also impacts the families, loved ones, and communities who continue carrying that loss forward every day.

As a behavioral health organization, we understand that grief, trauma, remembrance, and resilience are deeply connected. Today, we honor the courage of those who gave their lives for our country and hold space for the individuals and families who continue to feel their absence.
