Brandon Brian Belcher, age 33, passed away peacefully at Banks Lake in Washington on July 30, 2026. Born in Monroe, Washington, on August 11, 1992, Brandon lived a life anchored in kindness, personal faith, and deep love for those around him.

Brandon was a man with a good soul, a warm smile, and a contagious laugh. Brandon had a remarkable heart for helping others. He spent his career working as a heavy machinery operator—a job he took immense pride in—and was always the first to offer his time, strength, and muscle to anyone in need. Brandon loved deeply and truly lived life to the fullest. An avid athlete and outdoorsman, he found his greatest joy outdoors: camping, fishing, disc golfing, hiking, paddleboarding, cliff jumping, and spending time on the water.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert (Bob) and Marion Belcher. He leaves behind his beloved four-legged daughter, Tipsy, alongside a large, devoted family including the Belcher, Burgess, Connor, Hood, Wagner, and Wheeler families, as well as countless blessed friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 19, 2026, at 17220 WA-203, Monroe, WA 98272. In lieu of flowers, and honoring Brandon’s profound love for animals, the family suggests donations to Northwest Human Remains Detection K9 Search and Rescue (nwhrd.org) or the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center (sarveywildlife.org).

Daniel Vincent Schmid, known to family and friends as Dan or Danny and to his children and grandchildren as Papa, passed away on August 3, 2026, in Everett, Washington, at the age of 71, after an intense fight with gallbladder cancer.

Dan was born on October 20, 1954, in Moses Lake, Washington, to Vincent and Ruthanne (McDonnell) Schmid. He attended Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane and went on to build a life centered on family, faith, service, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved.

Dan shared 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife Mary Lynn Schmid, whom he married on August 14, 1976. Together they built a family and a life filled with love, travel, home improvement projects, family dinners, and countless memories.

Dan began his career as an electronics technician, but his talents and character quickly made him much more than that. Wherever he worked, he became the person people turned to-the problem solver who could be counted on to figure things out and help make things right. His ability to understand people and situations, combined with his steady and dependable nature, made him someone others trusted.

Service to others was woven into nearly every part of Dan's life. He served as a choir member, religious education and confirmation teacher, marriage preparation facilitator, coach, and referee. Carol Ann Gierke, 77, of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington.
Carol was born on September 29, 1948, in Orange County, California. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to caring for others. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a paraeducator, and later as a teacher for students with disabilities. Her compassion, patience, and unwavering belief in every child's potential left a lasting impact on the many students and families whose lives she touched.
Above all else, Carol was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother. She was the heart of her family, known for her kindness, generosity, and a heart of gold. Her children will always remember her as the most loving mother anyone could ask for.
Carol found joy in life's simple blessings. She loved crafting, baking, and creating beauty wherever she went. Her yard was filled with colorful flowers that she lovingly planted and cared for, reflecting the warmth and beauty she brought into the lives of those around her. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially the many cats she rescued over the years.

Sharon Rae (Dafforn) Gossett, 75, of Ephrata, Washington, died July 26, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 4, 1951, in Bremerton, Washington, to William and Marguerite Dafforn, the oldest of four children. She grew up in Longview, WA and graduated from Mark Morris High School in 1969. As a young woman she attended an evangelistic meeting in Longview and gave her life to Christ. She understood everything that followed — her marriage, her family, her work, and her service — as a response to God’s grace and mercy.

Sharon attended Lower Columbia College before transferring to Washington State University, where she earned a degree in education in 1973 and met David Gossett, from Ephrata. They were married November 2, 1974, in Pullman.

After Dave completed college and a brief stint with the WSU Extension Service, the couple settled in Ephrata and started a family farm. Sharon had no natural affection for dirt, early mornings, heavy equipment, or chaos of any kind, but she faithfully supported the farm for forty years. Keeping the books, feeding the family, running around the Columbia Basin for parts, and the myriad other tasks needed to get the job done.

Her truest calling was motherhood. She raised three sons in a home saturated by her faith, with morning devotionals and a mother’s patient refusal to stop asking her boys the questions that mattered.

Shirley Ann (Dale) Moyser of Quincy, Washington, passed away peacefully at home on July 22,
2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.

Shirley was born on June 24, 1936, in Indiana to Frank Dale and Vivian (Deever) Dale.
While living in California, Shirley met Richard Allen Moyser, a United States Navy officer.
After a brief courtship, they were married on October 15, 1957. Their first son, Richard (Rick)
Allen Moyser Jr, was born in July 1959, and their second son, David Allan Moyser, completed
their family in September 1963.

Shirley was devoted to her family and took immense pride in her role as a homemaker. She and
Richard eventually settled in Quincy, Washington, where they purchased a home and raised their
family. When Richard was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in the late 1970s and early 1980s,
Shirley dedicated herself to his full-time care, lovingly supporting him until his passing in 2002.

Shirley's greatest joy was her family. She was especially delighted when her first granddaughter
was born in 1981 and again in 1984 with the birth of her second granddaughter. She adored her
granddaughters and treasured every moment spent with them.
A woman of deep faith, Shirley loved God and lived her beliefs with devotion, kindness, and
grace. She was an active and faithful member of the Quincy Church of the Nazarene at the time
of her passing.
