Can we take our faith into the voting booth without handing our conscience over to a political party?
I believe we can. But it requires admitting something we don’t say often enough: supporting a party or candidate doesn’t mean we agree with every policy, agenda, or action. We should be able to acknowledge those disagreements without feeling obligated to defend everything our side does.
I’m not qualified to tell you how to vote, and I don’t share my ballot choices. I do care about whether following Jesus is shaping our decisions and whether we can still love the neighbor who reaches a different conclusion. That neighbor will still be there when the election is over.
That’s what I explore in my new article, How to Cast a Jesus-Centered Ballot. The guiding thought is simple: principles before personalities and politics.

Putting principles before personalities and politics while keeping faith, conscience, and compassion at the center of our vote.
