Patriot Day, observed annually on September 11, honors the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. It also recognizes first responders, volunteers, and survivors. It is officially designated as both Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Boeing Museum of Flight!

Our residents took a "flight" to the Boeing Museum of Flight😉 One of our residents worked in manufacturing the Boeing planes for 30 years. He shared his stories, small tid bits that are "secrets" but we won't tell!!! They walked and rolled through the exhibits, did flight simulators, drank coffee and took the view in on the sky deck. Needless to say, it was a wonderful day out!

LEGO bricks withstand compression better than concrete. An ordinary plastic LEGO brick is able to support the weight of 375,000 other bricks before it fails. Did you know?
-The first swimming goggles were made from tortoise shells.
-Swimming was first introduced at the Olympics in 1896.
-The first known record of people swimming dates back to Egyptian drawings from 2500 BC, with stone age paintings in the Cave of Swimmers dating back even further.
-Franklin invented swim fins to help move through the water more efficiently.

We had an amazing family picnic in the park on Friday! We hope to make this an annual thing. We fished, we played games and most importantly we laughed and relaxed in the sun! Everyone was spread out between the fishing docks, the playgrounds, swim area and picnic shelter, capturing moments was a bit tough, so we set the phones down and engaged in conversation, but here are a few pictures!

Taking time to bond with families and residents is so incredibly important. We get so busy in our day to day, it was a nice reminder to take a break and enjoy each other.

Thank you to Continuum Hospice for supplying lunch for us! Grateful to our community partner♡
