What's actually spooky this October? 👻 (Hint: it's not the haunted house.)

We love a good pumpkin patch and a scary movie as much as anyone — but this season, we're counting down the things that are scarier than any jump scare:

🎃 A nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight, with no off switch
🎃 Tension quietly building in a body that hasn't been checked in ages
🎃 Ignoring something because "it doesn't hurt" — even though the nervous system doesn't always send a pain signal when it needs help
🎃 Not realizing a clear, connected nervous system is available to your whole family
🎃 And the spookiest of all: waiting until something's really wrong instead of catching it early

The good news? None of this has to be your story. A clear neuro-spinal system is one of the least spooky *and most empowering!* things you can give yourself and your family this season.

Skip the haunted house — come get scanned at our office instead. We promise fewer jump scares. 🍂

Dysregulation doesn't always look dramatic — most of the time, it looks like the stuff we've just learned to live with.

When your nervous system spends too much time stuck in "fight or flight" instead of moving fluidly between stress and rest, your body starts showing signs of that imbalance in ways that are easy to write off as normal: the tension headache you get every afternoon, the jaw you didn't realize you'd been clenching, the shallow breathing you only notice when someone points it out, the digestive issues that flare with stress, the sleep that never quite feels restful, or the short fuse that shows up faster than it used to.

None of these are random — they're your nervous system's way of signaling that it's working overtime to keep up with everyday demands.

This is exactly what we look for with our INSiGHT scans at Strive: an objective, non-invasive look at how well your nervous system is adapting, so we can see dysregulation patterns before they turn into something more disruptive. If any of this sounds familiar, your body may be asking for support.

Book your appointment today and let's find out what your nervous system has been carrying.

Your baby's cry sounds weird and their feeding is a total struggle. You feel like something's wrong but everyone says "That's just how babies are."

It's not.

Your baby's cry shouldn't sound strained or weak and feeding shouldn't be painful for you or difficult for your baby. These are signs that your baby's cranial nerves might be affected by the stress of birth.

Birth is a physical demand on your baby's tiny body. Forceps, vacuum extraction, prolonged labor, emergency C-section, or cord around neck. These all create upper cervical and cranial strain in your newborn.

Your cranial nerves control critical functions. The vagus nerve controls swallowing, digestion, and feeding reflexes. The facial nerve controls facial symmetry and oral function. The trigeminal nerve controls mouth sensation and function. The hypoglossal nerve controls tongue movement.

When your baby experiences birth trauma or stress, these nerves can become restricted or irritated. The result looks like feeding difficulties, weak cry, tongue tie symptoms, facial asymmetry, or difficulty swallowing.

Most people assume these are separate issues:
Tongue tie requires a release. Feeding difficulties requires more bottles and pumping.
A fussy baby is "just a newborn". But often the root cause is cranial nerve dysfunction from birth trauma.

Gentle upper cervical adjustments release the restrictions on the cranial nerves. Once those nerves can function properly, feeding improves naturally. Cry strength improves, swallowing normalizes, and facial symmetry improves.

Combined with lactation support and/or other specialists, chiropractic addresses the underlying nervous system dysfunction.

Your Baby Doesn't Have to Struggle.

Get their nervous system checked early. The first two weeks make a huge difference. Let those cranial nerves function the way they're designed to.

Your baby deserves a smooth start. 💚

Your baby has a flat spot on their head. You're told it's cosmetic and they will just “grow into it” but here's what they're not telling you.

That flat head isn't just a cosmetic issue but a sign that your baby's nervous system isn't functioning optimally. Your baby head can't move freely in one direction in which compensates the entire spinal system. When we notice a restriction on the cranials, it will impact everything else in the body. You will notice body tension/ favoring one side or issues with latch and breastfeeding as cranial and oral function go hand in hand. We want to catch this compensation pattern sooner than later.

The Science:
Plagiocephaly happens when a baby favors one side. But why? Usually because there's spinal tension or imbalance that makes one direction uncomfortable or restricted. Birth trauma creates upper cervical imbalance. That imbalance makes one side of movement painful or difficult. So baby favors the other side. Over time, the favored side flattens.

The flat head is a symptom. The spinal imbalance is the cause.

Your baby's nervous system is telling you something is wrong. The head shape is just the visible sign.

How Chiropractic Helps:
Upper cervical adjustments release the restriction. Your baby can move freely in both directions again. Once movement is restored, you combine that with positioning therapy and tummy time. The head naturally rounds out as your baby develops normally.

Babies who get early chiropractic care often never develop flat head syndrome. Prevention is so much easier than correction.

You Don't Have to Accept "That's Just How Babies Are."

Your baby's flat head is telling you their nervous system needs support. Early intervention makes all the difference. Your baby deserves to develop symmetrically.

Get their spine checked. Address the restriction. Let their body do what it's designed to do. 💚

Before the tubes conversation, there's a question worth asking.

If you're on your third (or fourth, or fifth) round of antibiotics and the ear infections keep coming back, we know how exhausting and discouraging that cycle is. You're not failing — you're just missing a piece of the picture.

So much of chronic ear infection struggles in babies and toddlers comes down to drainage. The eustachian tubes sit more horizontally in little ones, so fluid doesn't clear as easily — and how well that whole system functions is directly connected to the nervous system, right where the upper neck meets the base of the skull. Birth stress, falls, tummy time struggles, even the process of simply growing can create tension here that interferes with the body's ability to drain and adapt on its own.

We're not here to tell you chiropractic "cures" ear infections — that's not how any of this works, and we'll never claim it does. What we do is support your child's neuro-spinal system so their body has the clearest possible line of communication to do what it's designed to do: heal.

At STRIVE, this looks like a thorough, gentle assessment and adjustments so light most parents are surprised anything happened at all — followed by watching your child's body respond.
