The year was 1996 and Mill Street Residence was built. The very first assisted living in Fergus Falls and I was lucky enough to be a part of it from day 1. I have met many coworkers, residents and their families that have truly became a part of my family. On May 29th it will be my last day as I am retiring. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank each and every one of you for making it the best job ever and I will miss all of you.

We were all “Norwegian” for the day in honor of Syttende Mai (Norwegian Constitution Day) we had a program explaining how they celebrate in Norway, surprisingly with hot dogs and ice cream. Followed by Norwegian trivia and conversation from residents who have actually been there. Ended the afternoon at coffee time featuring Norwegian treats and fresh warm rommegrot. (Thanks to our former cook Cheri for that) Thanks also to Bert Egstad for the homemade krumkakke, Debbie Aanden for the sonbackles and for Marla, Sam, and Gabe for serving. ( Sorry for any spelling errors, my phone is not Norwegian!)
