Creativity and sweet treats made for a wonderful afternoon! 🎨🍦
Residents enjoyed getting creative with velvet coloring posters while celebrating National Rocky Road Day. There was plenty of artistic talent on display as colorful masterpieces came to life.
Of course, no celebration would be complete without a delicious serving of Rocky Road ice cream! The perfect combination of chocolate, marshmallows, and nuts made for a tasty snack while everyone worked on their artwork.

We hosted our very first Embroidery Class today, and what a wonderful beginning it was! 🧵🪡
This beginner’s course gave residents the opportunity to learn a new skill, try something creative, and enjoy time together. A special thank you to Nancy and Marilyn for getting us started and sharing their knowledge and talents with the group.
The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of fun as everyone learned the basics of embroidery. It was inspiring to see residents step outside their comfort zones and discover a new hobby.
They say you’re never too old to learn something new, and today proved just that! We can’t wait for our next class and to see all the beautiful creations to come.

Manicures are always a favorite among our ladies. There’s something special about having your nails done, choosing a beautiful color, and leaving with a fresh, polished look. The smiles say it all!

Today we took a special trip to visit our dear friend, David. At Lake Meadows, we are more than residents and staff—we are family.
David may now be living in a nursing home, but he is certainly not forgotten. We loaded up a bus full of residents and staff to spend time with him, lift his spirits, and let him know just how much he is loved and missed.
We shared lunch together, reminisced about old memories, told stories, laughed, smiled, and enjoyed each other’s company. It was a wonderful reminder that true friendships and family bonds remain strong no matter where life takes us.

Trying something new for National Game Show Day, we created our very own Name That Tune competition! Residents competed against each other to see who could identify songs the fastest as the music played.
Our first-time event was a huge success with a great turnout, lots of laughter, and plenty of friendly competition. The songs kept everyone engaged, and many residents were guessing the tunes left and right! Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Lori, who took home a delicious box of Zebra Cakes! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event so much fun. We are already looking forward to hosting Name That Tune again soon!

Volunteer Spotlight on two amazing ladies, Rylan and Barb. Their kindness, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes brighten our campus each and every week. Coming in 2 to 4 times per week, they stay actively involved in activities and are always willing to lend a helping hand. Their creativity and talent continue to amaze us as they prepare for next month’s fun — getting canvases ready for Donald Duck Day and creating homemade T-shirts from coloring sheets.
We truly would be lost without these two wonderful ladies. Thank you, Rylan and Barb, for sharing your time, talents, and hearts with all of us. Thank you for choosing Lake Meadows as your home. 💙
