At Florence Health Services we strive to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents. Our center boasts a secure environment with the comforts of home.

With dedicated caregivers who have been serving our residents for many years, we are a family. Our dedicated center van can conveniently transport you to appointments when needed. We also offer private Medicare suites and translation services. We have been serving Florence and surrounding communities since 1970. Located in the heart of Florence, known for our snowmobile trails, ATV trails, and Pine Mountain ski hill, we are proud to be active members of the community. We recently were awarded a 2020 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The Award Program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. It's going to be a spooktacular week at Florence Health Services!

We're getting into the Halloween spirit with a full week of themed dress-up days, leading up to our Trunk or Treat celebration on Friday, October 30, from 4–6 PM!

From crazy hair and pumpkin-inspired outfits to pajamas and monster costumes, our team is ready to bring some Halloween fun to our residents!

Next up on our Meet the Managers series is Keary Beck our Environmental Services Manager!

Keary spent 5 years in the Army and shared a fun fact; he was bit on his right leg by a landshark while in Korea. His favorite food is Mexican especially tacos! He has a degree in IT and as much as he loves his job with environmental services, he thrives to get back into the IT world before retirement. He describes his dream job though as working for the Green Bay Packers. Keary's favorite hobby is golfing. He is happily married for over ten years he thinks, to his wife Dana! They are parents to two grown daughters and have four grandchildren!

Thank you for all you do to make our facility great Keary! We appreciate you!

Our CNA Barb was recognized with a respect award by Northshore. She goes above and beyond daily for our residents. We are lucky to have someone so caring on our team. Congrats Barb. Well deserved.

Next up on our meet the managers is director of transportation Dave!

Dave grew up in Weyauwega, WI on a dairy farm. He did everything from milking cows to shoveling manure but says his favorite farm task was working in the field. He has one daughter Taylor, who is 24. His favorite memories are being her dad. He moved up to the UP to start a life with girlfriend Rene and has added to his life here, 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Dave loves hunting and fishing in his spare time and enjoying chocolate in the MDS office at work. He spent 35 years driving concrete, but his favorite position is here at Florence Health Services assuring our residents get to appointments safely and on time. When he retires, he looks forward to traveling the US and living on the road. Thanks for all you do here Dave, to keep our facility the best.

Next up on our Meet the Managers series is Heather, our Social Services Director!

Heather was born in Milwaukee, WI, moving to Iron River, MI when she was in 1st grade. She was a graduate of West Iron County High School. Heather is a mom to two grown children who live in the Iron River area. She showed work ethic at a young age beginning at KFC in high school, after high school she discovered her passion in long term care as a CNA. Then earned an associate's degree in social work in 2025 and at this time is continuing on for bachelor's degree in social work.
When not at work, you can find her helping others out, cooking, or just relaxing with her dog, Tank. She likes to be with friends and socialize with others. Summer and fall are her favorite seasons. One fun fact about Heather she lived in Hawaii for 6 years. She stated it was amazing to see the beaches daily. One thing still on her bucket list is to travel to states such as Arizona, Tennessee or Florida.
Here in Florence, she is active with our residents within the social services role and participates in dress up days and parties to promote the life enrichment of our residents. Thanks, Heather, for all you do to make our facility great!
