The Frantz EyeCare family is deeply saddened by the passing of Mike Ditka.

The world knew him as a Hall of Famer and the coach who brought Chicago its Super Bowl title. We were lucky to also know him as a patient and a Southwest Florida neighbor. When he shared his experience with our practice to encourage others to take care of their vision, he did it with the same honesty and big-hearted spirit that made him a legend.

We're grateful for the time we spent with Coach and for the kindness he showed our team. Our hearts are with Diana and the entire Ditka family.

Rest in peace, Coach. 🏈💙

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Chau Pham, MD, FACS to Frantz EyeCare — officially joining our team tomorrow, September 19th!

Dr. Pham is a board-certified oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in eyelid surgery, orbital/oculofacial surgery, facial rejuvenation, and cosmetic oculoplastics. She joins us from the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where she served as Medical Director of Ophthalmology and Clinical Assistant Professor.

An award-winning educator and researcher, Dr. Pham brings over a decade of academic and surgical experience — and she's ready to help our growing community with everything from reconstructive eyelid care to facial rejuvenation.

Giving the Gift of Sight 👁️❤️

A few days ago, our team had the privilege of taking part in Mission Cataract USA Day, one of the most meaningful days on our calendar. Since 2016, Frantz EyeCare has proudly partnered with Mission Cataract USA to provide free cataract surgery to community members who couldn't otherwise afford this life-changing procedure, and this year was no exception.

Because here's the truth: cataracts don't just blur vision. They can take away someone's independence, their safety, their ability to see the people they love.

One patient who stays with us is James. He hadn't been able to see his own left hand for years. Not read a menu. Not recognize a face across the room. Not see his hand in front of him. After his surgery through Mission Cataract, he looked down and saw his hand clearly for the first time in years. That moment- that's why we do this work.

We watched patients see their grandchildren's faces clearly for the first time. Return to driving. Read again. Get back the small, everyday moments that cataracts had quietly stolen from them.

Restoring sight isn't just a procedure to us; it's restoring a life.
