Check your pantry! The FDA is warning consumers not to buy or serve Once Upon A Farm Tractor Wheels, Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars due to a potentially fatal choking hazard.

The agency has received reports of toddlers choking and being unable to breathe after eating these bars, which can form a dry, sticky mass when chewed that may be difficult to dislodge.

If you have these bars, stop serving them and throw them away.

A massive U.S. study involving 2.5 MILLION children has found no link between the MMR vaccine and autism.

As measles cases surge across the United States, new research published in The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal adds powerful evidence against one of the most persistent myths in medicine.

Researchers led by a physician at UW Medicine analyzed health records from 2,560,035 American children, comparing those who received their first measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine before age 2 with those who had not yet received it.

The children were followed through age 8, and the findings were clear: MMR vaccination was not associated with an increased risk of autism.

To strengthen their findings, researchers also examined a routine pneumococcal vaccine booster and found similarly reassuring results.

The misconception linking MMR vaccines to autism originated with a controversial 1998 study that was later retracted. Decades of research involving millions of children have repeatedly failed to establish any causal connection.

Meanwhile, measles is making a troubling comeback. According to the CDC, the United States had recorded 4,588 confirmed measles cases in 2026 as of October 22, highlighting the importance of vaccination against this highly contagious disease.

While no observational study can eliminate every possible source of bias, this enormous investigation adds to the overwhelming scientific evidence that the MMR vaccine does not cause autism.

Phones, tablets & computers are necessary; but they do NOT need to be in a child’s room, after bedtime.

All medications need to be locked away.

Bullying is never “just kids being kids”! If you see it, stop it! Talk to your kids about it.

At Redwood Pediatrics, we take care of Humboldt’s kids — and we've learned that medicine alone isn't enough.
Too many of the families we see run out of food in the last 10-15 days of every month.
That's why our team started a small food bank right here in our practice, run entirely by volunteers and dependent upon donations.

Redwood Pediatrics Medical Group has housed a small food pantry for over a year.
We created it to make sure local families could get support in a way that protects their dignity.
Any family can come into our office during open hours, from 8:30 to 5, and pick up food, diapers, and other necessities without having to ask.
We even have shopping bags available for free.
For many families, that privacy matters deeply, especially when they are doing everything they can to make meals stretch at the end of the month.
