On June 1st, our friend and coworker, Phil Bushman was involved in a serious accident that has left him facing a long road to recovery.

If you know Phil, you know he isn't the type to ask for help. He's the guy who shows up when others need him. He's spent years serving our community as a paramedic, caring for people on some of the worst days of their lives. Around the station, he's known as a hardworking farm man with a quiet strength and determination that few can match.

What makes this year especially meaningful is that 2026 marks the year Phil was officially declared cured of leukemia after a hard-fought battle. After everything he has overcome, he now faces another challenge that no one should have to face alone.

As Phil focuses on healing and getting back to the life he loves, we are asking our community to rally around him and his family. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement helps ease the burden and reminds Phil that the same community he has served for years is standing beside him now.

Thank you for supporting one of the good ones.

🏊☀️SWIM SAFETY

When choosing swimwear for children, visibility matters!

🩱 Brightly colored swimsuits can help parents, lifeguards, and caregivers spot a child more quickly in the water, adding another layer of safety at the pool, lake, or beach.

👀Supervision is always the most important safety tool, but choosing a highly visible swimsuit is a simple step that can make a real difference.

Big news for Clinton County!

Clinton County EMS is now carrying whole blood on ambulances through a new partnership with Eskenazi Health. The program will allow EMS to provide lifesaving blood transfusions directly to patients before they even reach the hospital.

EMS spent more than three years working to make this program a reality for our community. 👏

🚑🎉 Congratulations to Corbin Lopez, FP-C! 🎉🚑

We’re proud to announce that Paramedic Corbin Lopez is now a Board-Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) through the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC).

Corbin has continued to distinguish himself through his work ethic, clinical growth, and commitment to becoming a high-level critical care clinician. He brings a calm demeanor, strong critical thinking skills, and a genuine desire to keep improving. One thing to know about Corbin is that he loves a challenge. Whether it be a challenging exam, patient simulation, or a real case that demands critical thinking, Corbin is always up for the challenge. That mindset matters in critical care medicine, and it’s been exciting to watch his progression.

Corbin finished our 2025 Paramedic Program in December and has already crushed this exam on his first attempt. This is a testimony to both Corbin and the standard of our education at Clinton County EMS.

The FP-C is an international board certification and one of the most respected credentials in critical care transport medicine. The exam is known for its rigor and low pass rates, meaning only a small percentage of paramedics nationwide ever earn this designation. Achieving board certification reflects advanced mastery of critical care medicine, physiology, pharmacology, ventilator management, and high-acuity clinical decision-making.

This accomplishment reflects Corbin’s dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence in patient care. We’re proud to have him on our team and excited to see where his career continues to go.

Please join us in congratulating Corbin on this outstanding achievement 👏
Well earned and well deserved.

🚑PRECEPTOR OF THE YEAR — Jacy Parnin🎉

Precepting isn’t easy. It takes patience, consistency, and the willingness to let someone learn while you’re still responsible for patient care. The people who do it well teach skills, build confidence, and clinical judgment in a safe and supportive environment.

That’s exactly why Jacy was selected as our Preceptor of the Year by the students she worked with. That says more than anything else could.

Jacy shows up every shift ready to teach, challenge, and support the people she’s working with. She holds high standards, but she also puts in the time to help others reach them. Our new providers are better prepared, more confident, and safer because of the effort she invests in them. She embodies a life long learning mentality and cares deeply for the quality of the healthcare system.

This recognition is well deserved, and we’re lucky to have her on our team.

Congratulations, Jacy.
