For many men in recovery, this is especially true. Health care often takes a back seat to survival, stigma, work pressure, or just trying to get through the day without using.

But recovery isn’t only about stopping substance use. It’s about rebuilding the body that had to carry all of it.

Recovery is not just sobriety. It’s rebuilding health.

Coping Strategy of the Week: Focus on What You Can Control

Some situations are outside our control. Instead of focusing on what you cannot change, focus on what you can.

You can control:
✅ Your attitude
✅ Your choices
✅ Your effort
✅ How you respond

Recovery is built on the decisions we make each day.

💚 One choice at a time.

National Safety Month reminds us that safety includes being prepared for emergencies. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose and help keep our communities safer. Education, awareness, and harm reduction efforts save lives every day.

The 1776 Walk - Every Step Counts

As we begin our countdown to America's 250th Birthday, we're reflecting on the journey that started in 1776 and continues today. The Declaration of Independence marked the beginning of a long walk toward freedom, opportunity, and hope.

For those in recovery, the journey can feel very similar.

The 1776 Walk reminds us that freedom is not just something celebrated in history. It's something people work toward every day.

In recovery, freedom can mean:
👣 One day sober
👣 One healthy choice
👣 One support meeting attended
👣 One honest conversation
👣 One step closer to healing

Just as America has spent 250 years growing, learning, and overcoming challenges, recovery is a journey of progress, resilience, and hope.

Freedom was declared in 1776.
💙 Recovery begins with one step today.

🌟 Learning, Growing, and Moving Forward! 🌟

Our IOP group continues to show up, put in the work, and support one another every day. It's inspiring to see participants gaining new coping skills, building confidence, and making positive changes in their lives. Recovery is a journey, and every step forward matters.

We are proud of the dedication, honesty, and growth displayed in each class. Together, we're learning, growing, and creating a stronger future. 💙

💚 June is PTSD Awareness Month 💚

Trauma can leave lasting effects long after an event has passed. For many individuals, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) impacts daily life, relationships, physical health, and emotional well-being.

PTSD is not a sign of weakness. It is a real and treatable condition that can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event.

Many people struggling with PTSD may also turn to substances as a way to cope with difficult emotions, memories, or symptoms. Recovery begins with understanding, support, and access to effective treatment.

This month, let's work together to:
✅ Increase awareness about PTSD
✅ Reduce stigma surrounding mental health treatment
✅ Encourage healthy coping skills
✅ Support those on their healing journey
✅ Remind others that recovery is possible

You are not alone, and help is available. Healing happens one step, one day, and one act of courage at a time.
