A little thank you note and plug for the VaHomeschoolers (Un) Convention:
Honored to speak at the annual event that for most years (a few missed for illness etc) was a true highlight of my homeschooling year and really helped fill up my heart and support the journey ahead. Community and our fellow homeschool folks really help share the fun board games and field trips, they also help remind us that we don’t have to be perfect and that mistakes are apart of the road trip. Many homeschool parents and VaHomeschoolers speakers and volunteers shared resources that helped my learners, and I even have a homeschool mom friend that helped correct a professional’s misguided information share so I could actually access disability support services I did not know my daughter then qualified for- that friend helped me immensely. We cannot do this without support, and I have gained so much from the VaHomeschoolers community since 2009- I’m forever grateful.
