We hope you'll join us for our Virtual Group Classes! These virtual classes are designed to provide helpful information and opportunities to connect with others while building skills in Assistive Technology, Independent Living, Braille & Communication and Independent Travel. Virtual group Classes will be held every Thursday at 11:00 a.m., lasting approximately 90 minutes. Classes will be held virtually via phone and eventually via Zoom.

August 6: Wearables (Meta Glasses/Smart Glasses, Smart Watch)
August 13: Basics of braille (common words and the importance/benefits of learning braille, numbers for hotel rooms & restroom signs, etc.)
August 20: Emergency Situations (How to get out, where to go, what to do)
August 27: live online Safetypowers workshop focusing on skills for avoiding or dealing with unwanted or unsafe attention from strangers out in public.

Happy Assistance Dog Day! 🐾
Today, we're celebrating two of our favorite four-legged coworkers, Tad and Linux and the incredible partnerships they share with Jamie and Rey!
Guide and assistance dogs do so much more than provide support, they offer independence, confidence, companionship, and plenty of tail wags along the way.
Whether they're leading the way through a busy day or taking a well-deserved break in the office, Tad and Linux are always making an impact.
These amazing dogs remind us of the power of teamwork, trust, and unconditional love.
Join us in giving a round of "a-paws" to Tad, Linux, and all assistance dogs who help make the world more accessible, one paw print at a time!

Our Fresno group had a fantastic time heading out for Lunch Bunch at La Perla Tapatia Taqueria. Don’t miss out on next month's Lunch Bunch! Sharing a meal at a local restaurant gave everyone the chance to practice social skills, build friendships, and enjoy great conversation. Today, we celebrate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark law that affirmed the rights, dignity, and inclusion of people with disabilities.
At Valley Center for the Blind, we're proud to serve our Central Valley community by empowering people who are blind or have low vision to live independently and pursue their goals. While we celebrate the progress the ADA has made possible, we also recognize that accessibility and inclusion aren't one-day conversations, they're year-round commitments.
Together, we can continue building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Happy ADA Anniversary!

Today, we proudly celebrate Mitchell, Santos, and Edgar on their graduation from Valley Center for the Blind's Assistive Technology (AT) Program!
Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to learning have helped them develop valuable technology skills that support greater independence, confidence, and success in everyday life. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see what the future holds for each of them.
