Today was a hit!
We have incorporated a monthly scrapbooking club with Natalie. The month of August has been dedicated to birds. We had so much fun picking out different materials and building up our pages. Staff even had to get in on the fun. We look forward to filling up the pages month by month.

Our SPOTLIGHT RESIDENT of the month , August 2026 is…..

BARBARA JEAN COLLUM

Ms Collum is our special girl this month.
She was married 64 years to the late Dr. Billy Collum ( He was originally from Fairview, Ms and she from Illinois)
They met in surgery where she was a scrub nurse and he the surgeon in Houston, Tx.
They went on to have 10 children ! She even won Mother of the Year in Itawamba County years ago. She has always enjoyed spending time with her kids. She also loved card and board games. Cooking was something she enjoyed doing (she said she just didn’t like cleaning up her mess! If you know her, then you know what an incredible and strong lady she is. She can light up a room with her smile! ( I personally do everything I can so that she will smile). She’s kind, considerate of her fellow residents , funny & sweet.

Ms Collums says the best part of living at Charleston Place is that it’s like a family. “Everybody helps everybody” here.
I can speak for us all in saying that we are very grateful to have her as a part of our family !! We love you!🩷

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH for August here at Charleston Place is……@

Steven Finn !

Steven works in our wonderful kitchen.
To tell you a little about him, he has been married 12 years and has 3 beautiful children. He grew up in Nettleton his entire life and is where he still resides.
His hobbies include fishing, walking /hiking along creek/river banks in search of arrowheads. He especially enjoys cooking.
Steven says that he loves cooking for the resident and the residents love his cooking! Staff too!
His co-workers brag on him - as to how he never complains and what a hard worker he is. He is always asking what he can do to help.
Being the only male employee, you know his hands are full having to deal with 25 women! He just smiles and does anything that is requested. He may have the residents (& staff) a little spoiled!
Thank you, Steven, for all you do! This is very well deserved!

With recent news of certain facilities closing their doors, we wanted to remind everyone what we are all about! Here at Charleston Place, we are here to support you and your loved ones. Since 2008 we have made a name for ourselves and our reputation speaks for itself. We pride ourselves on our facility and our staff. Give us a call or swing by and take a tour. Our doors are always open!
