We live in a world built on one word: more.
More isn’t always bad. Growth, excellence, and ambition can be good gifts. But when “more” becomes the place we look for our worth, peace, or identity, it becomes a treadmill that never stops.
Seneca observed that the truly poor person isn’t the one with little; it’s the one who always needs more. All these years later, that insight still cuts through our culture.
The deeper question isn’t, “How much do I have?”
It’s, “Whose ‘well done’ am I trying to earn?”
If the answer is people, you’ll always need another accomplishment, another compliment, another milestone.
But if you’re living for Christ, the finish line isn’t popularity or status; it’s faithfulness.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
That’s the kind of approval that frees you to pursue excellence without becoming enslaved to it.
What’s one area of your life where “more” has quietly become your master?
Restore. Rebuild. Reclaim.
